Georgia freshman RB James Cook (undisclosed) did not practice on Thursday.
Per The Athletic's Seth Emerson, this was likely an injury-related absence, rather than a personal one. Cook (5'11/190) rushed for 284 yards (6.9 YPC) and two touchdowns in 10 games during the regular season. Should he be unable to play in the Sugar Bowl (against Texas on Jan. 1), it wouldn't be a truly tangible loss for Georgia given their loaded running backs room. Dec 20 - 5:25 PM

Wisconsin sophomore QB Jack Coan will start the team's Pinstripe Bowl matchup with Miami on Dec. 27.
Coan will be starting in place of Alex Hornibrook, who is dealing with recurring symptoms from a concussion sustained midway through the 2018 campaign. The sophomore signal-caller started three of Wisconsin's final four games. On the whole, the 6-foot-3, 211-pounder has thrown for 488 yards with a 4/2 TD/INT ratio this season. No great shakes on the statistical front, but he'll try his best to help Wisconsin finish out a dreadfully disappointing year on a high note come the Pinstripe Bowl. Dec 20 - 4:52 PM

Florida International redshirt junior QB James Morgan (triceps) has been ruled out for Friday's Bahamas Bowl date with Toledo.
Morgan (6'4/213) sustained a triceps injury in FIU's final game of the regular season, a 28-25 defeat at the hands of Marshall. He hasn't been able to get right even with a few extra weeks to rehab. With their starter ruled out, the Golden Panthers will be turning to redshirt senior Christian Alexander for Friday's contest. Morgan ends his 2018 campaign having thrown for 2,727 yards with a 26/7 TD/INT ratio. His absence in this game could prove incredibly problematic for FIU's chances. Dec 20 - 2:52 PM

Florida International redshirt junior QB Christian Alexander will start Friday's Bahamas Bowl showdown with Toledo.
Alexander (6'3/225) will start in place of James Morgan, who sustained a triceps injury in the regular-season finale against Marshall. In limited playing time spread across eight games this year, the redshirt junior has completed 19-of-29 passes for 218 yards and an 0/1 INT. Dec 20 - 2:59 PM

Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon will not play in the Peach Bowl.
Higdon (5'10/202) will be skipping his team's Peach Bowl matchup with Florida in order to begin his prep for the 2019 NFL Draft. That process will get started in earnest for the senior at January's end, as he's accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl upcoming. That makes three notables at UM who will not be suiting up for a date with the Gators, as star DL Rashan Gary and LB Devin Bush have already likewise decided to sit out the game. Unlike Higdon -- a likely Day 3 selection -- Gary and Bush are both potential top-10 selections. Dec 20 - 11:38 AM

Greg Dortch - WR - Demon Deacons

Wake Forest redshirt sophomore WR Greg Dortch (Finger) will not play in the Birmingham Bowl against Memphis.

A huge loss for the Demon Deacons. Dortch injured the finger in the victory over Duke to close out the season, and while it wasn't deemed serious at the time, it's going to be serious enough for the star wideout to not play. He finished his regular season with 89 catches for 1,078 yards and 8 touchdowns. As a redshirt sophomore he's eligible to leave for the NFL Draft, and it's entirely possible he's played his last game in a Wake Forest uniform.

Northwestern redshirt senior LB Nate Hall (shoulder) will not play in the Holiday Bowl.
Hall (6'2/231) underwent shoulder surgery, so he will just be on the sidelines cheering on his teammates. The linebacker spent five seasons with the program racking up 151 solo tackles, 110 assisted tackles, five sacks, and five interceptions. Hall needs to get healthy as soon as possible before the draft because he should have plus measurables at the combine. He apparently can run a 4.70 40-yard dash at 230 pounds. Dec 21 - 7:06 PM

The Baton Rouge Advocate reports that LSU sophomore RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire is one of the players who has been taken into custody in regards to a fatal shooting on Saturday night.
WBRZ-TV was the first to report that Edwards-Helaire was one of the two LSU athletes who have been taken into custody for questioning in regards to the fatal shooting. The other athlete has not been named. No arrests have been made at this time. An unidentified male was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound in the back of a truck. We'll be sure and update you with more information as it presents itself. Dec 22 - 7:22 PM

Here is a quote in the comment section, rumor only

Current rumor is that the pair were selling a game system off Craigslist and had met the buyer in Scotlandville, which is a bad area of town by Southern University.

The buyer tried to rob them and CEH was supposedly the shooter.

The kids need to stay the hell away from North BR between this and the LSU basketball player who got killed a few months back breaking up a fight by Southern.

Boise St ... that's 113 plays from scrimmage missing from this game vs BC !!

Boise State freshman WR Khalil Shakir (undisclosed) will not play in the First Responders Bowl against Boston College.
Shakir was expected to play as of three weeks ago, but those plans have changed due to his unknown injury. Boise State will also be without wide receiver John Hightower and running back Robert Mahone, so volume will be funneled towards the top end players like Sean Modster. Dec 23 - 11:46 AM

Boise State junior WR John Hightower will not play in the upcoming bowl game for academic reasons.
Hightower has missed time with a high-ankle sprain and he'll miss another. The junior will finish his 2018 season with 31 receptions for 504 yards and six touchdowns across nine games. Boise State will lean on receivers Sean Modster and A.J. Richardson with Hightower out for the First Responders Game. Wide receiver Khalil Shakir and running back Robert Mahone are also out. Zach Giella - G - Tigers

Clemson redshirt junior OL Zach Giella tested positive for Ostarine.

Giella is one of three Tigers who tested positive for the banned substance, along with tight end Braden Galloway and DT Dexter Lawrence. He's been a backup at guard and center for Clemson in 2018. A B-Sample is coming later this week according to head coach Dabo Swinney, but it sounds like it's possible that all three are going to be suspended for the Cotton Bowl against Notre Dame.

Braden Galloway - TE - Tigers

Clemson freshman TE Braden Galloway tested positive for Ostarine.

Ostarine is a performance-enhancing drug that is banned by the NCAA. Galloway is one of three players that tested positive for the PED, along with star DT Dexter Lawrence and offensive lineman Zach Giella. Head coach Dabo Swinney reports that the amount found in they system of the players was a "sliver," and that they are waiting on the B results of the test. Galloway caught five passes for 52 yards for the Tigers in his freshman season.

Dexter Lawrence - DL - Tigers

Clemson HC Dabo Swinney told reporters that the NCAA notified junior DT Dexter Lawrence, OL Zach Giella and TE Braden Galloway that they failed drug tests.

Swinney told reporters that all three of the players tested positive for a "sliver" of ostarine. Ostarine is a banned substance that is considered a performance-enhancing drug. Lawrence is viewed as one of the best defensive tackles in the nation, and assuming a suspension is coming -- it's worth pointing out that Swinney says there's a B-sample test with results pending -- it's a tremendous loss for their semfinal game against Notre Dame on Saturday. We'll have more as we get further updates.

N'Kosi Perry - QB - Hurricanes
Miami redshirt freshman QB N'Kosi Perry hinted at a possible suspension for the Pinstripe Bowl against Wisconsin.

In the online video, Perry reportedly says "I'm suspended, bro," to the camera. It was part of a video taken by teammate Gilbert Frierson on Instagram Live at a comedy club on Sunday evening. This stems from Perry posting a video featuring two people having intercourse in September that resurfaced in November. It's looking very likely that Malik Rosier will be the starter at quarterback for the bowl game.

Bama 3 players out ...1 starter

Alabama announced on Monday that three players -- junior offensive lineman Elliot Baker, sophomore offensive lineman Deonte Brown and sophomore tight end Kedrick James -- did not make the trip to South Florida for the College Football Playoff semifinal and are suspended for the Orange Bowl due to a violation of team rules and policies.
Brown is the most notable player of the trio. The 6-foot-4, 344-pounder from Decatur, Alabama, earned the starting job at left guard midway through the 2018 season. He started five games for the Crimson Tide, beginning with the Tennessee game on Oct. 20. He missed a contest against The Citadel on Nov. 17 but returned for the Iron Bowl vs. Auburn on Nov. 24.
A key member of a Tide offensive line that came of age during the last month of the season, Brown helped paved the way for Alabama's rushers to average 5.62 yards per carry during the final month of the regular season, including 5.41 in the SEC Championship Game win over Georgia.
Baker is a 6-foot-7, 307-pounder who joined the team prior to the 2017 season from the College of San Francisco. He was the No. 1 junior college offensive tackle in the Class of 2017 and was a four-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He did not play in any games for Alabama in 2018. James made his debut for the Crimson Tide last season and has played five games in each of the last two seasons.

Syracuse HC Dino Babers said that redshirt senior S Antwan Cordy (undisclosed) is unlikely to play in the Camping World Bowl.
This game is shaping up as a battle of reserves in part, with both teams sitting out multiple notable players. On the Orange side, defensive linemen Alton Robinson and McKinley Williams have both been suspended for the contest. Cordy (5'8/183) is not dealing with a suspension, but rather an undisclosed issue which cost him the final two games of the regular-season campaign. This season, the athletic standout -- he graced Bruce Feldman's annual "Freaks" list over the summer -- has registered 27 tackles, a sack and three passes defended in 10 games. Of note, Cordy will be eligible for a sixth year should he want to bring it back for one more run with the Orange. He is not expected to make that call until some point after the Camping World Bowl. Syracuse junior DT McKinley Williams has been suspended for the Camping World Bowl.
Williams (6'4/295) and DE Alton Robinson were both hit up with suspensions for the Orange's Dec. 28 showdown with West Virginia for what the team termed "personal reasons." Focusing on the former, Robinson logged 17 tackles (3.0 for loss) in nine games for the 2018 campaign. Josh Black, Chris Slayton and KJ Ruff are all in line for increased playing time with Williams in the doghouse. Dec 25 - 2:10 PM

Syracuse junior DE Alton Robinson has been suspended for the Camping World Bowl.
The Orange are saying that Robinson and DT McKinley Williams are being suspended for "personal reasons." At this juncture, no further information is available as to the root cause of these punishments. The 6-foot-4, 249-pound Robinson's suspension makes for a significant loss. This season, the junior end has registered 39 tackles (17.0 for loss), 10 sacks, 11 quarterback hits and three fumbles forced across 12 games played. With the junior end nixed for the Camping World Bowl, look for reserve defensive linemen Kingsley Jonathan and Brandon Berry to see an uptick in work against West Virginia upcoming. Dec 25 - 1:51 PM

Michigan

Michigan redshirt senior T Juwann Bushell-Beaty will skip the team's Peach Bowl matchup with Florida.
And another one bites the dust. No team has taken on more water in terms of players skipping their bowl game than Michigan, who will be without not only their starting right tackle in Bushell-Beaty, but also DE Rashan Gary, RB Karan Higdon, LB Devin Bush. Bushell-Beaty (6'6/318) will next be taking the field in the East-West Shrine Game in January as he looks to put his best foot forward at the start of the draft evaluation process. As for who might start at right tackle for the Wolverines on Jan. 1, Andrew Stueber has been practicing with the first-team offense in bowl preparation this week. Dec 26 - 11:54 AM

Temple senior RB Ryquell Armstead is out for the bowl game.
Armstead (5'11/215) has rushed for 1,098 yards (5.2 YPC) and 13 touchdowns across 10 games, so there's a lot of production being left behind for the Owls. The senior running back is considered a fringe Day 3 prospect, but his stock can rise in the Reese's Senior Bowl. Temple will also be without CB Rock Ya-Sin against Duke. Dec 27 - 12:06 PM

Georgia senior CB DeAndre Baker will not play in the upcoming Sugar Bowl.
Baker (5'11/185) will be preparing for the 2019 NFL Draft instead. It's a big loss for the Bulldogs, as Baker is a first-round or second-round prospect. The senior corner won the 2018 Jim Thorpe Award after deflecting nine passes and catching two interceptions. Baker has also earned positive grades from Pro Football Focus, who listed Baker as the No. 3 overall prospect in the class back in October. Dec 27 - 4:09 PM
