POTUS announced 30 minutes ago.

Read the letter from Mattis. He is not 'retiring'. He is quitting, which is a salute to his strong ethics

Another James Acosta in the house, or should I say Ralph Madcow? maybe Joy Behar?

One way for any conservative to make any liberal suddenly love you, is to disagree with Trump on something. They start to fawn all over you, until you served your purpose for them and then they start lying about you again.

Just axe John McCain, although he fell for that charade until the day he died

Truth is, Mattis did NOT win any major policy battles with Trump, so he left. He disagreed with Trump on everything, with pulling out of Syria being the most recent issue. I like Mattis, I'll continue to like him, my opinions are not dust in the wind

Pulling out of Syria is the one issue that I disagree with Trump on, although I'm not really informed on the current status of things over there. Our press stopped talking about Syria, which means Trump must be doing a good job over there.

I remember when they all argued that the solution to the million strong refugee crisis created by Obama was to bring 10,000. And Trump was RACIST for not bringing a small minutia of them here. Instead he took strong stances, again not reported accurately, and then gave those million refugees their homes back. Gee, WINNING, and a substantive solution, what a novel idea.

It's nauseating to observe the behavior by the left for the past three years, dishonest about every issue to their very core.

Liberals are too stupid to see what's going on.

Sessions, Kelly, Mattis. You think it's all coincidence?

They're stepping down so they can step up for the military tribunals.

Meanwhile gullible liberals like Srgt Lag or whatever his name is just gobble up the headlines and treat it like gospel not realizing they're too stupid to see what's going on.

The rest is just noise.

Kavanaugh was key for what is about to happen.

You truly are becoming delusional.

That's what every liberal (mostly the brainwashed kind) have said every step of the way.

Tens of thousands of sealed indictments, Trump putting in his first SCJ, booting another out of the picture and then putting Kavanaugh in..... Hillary and the whole crew going ape shit over his appointment. The attempted and failed blocking of Kavanaugh b/c of this:

Sessions, Kelly, Mattis..... all stepping down at the height of their powers just so they can go for a stroll. Lol, yeah right. Dumb liberals eating up their stated reasons for stepping down (see Sqt Lag). Comey getting axed. McCabe getting axed. McCain getting put in the dirt.

All of this happening right in front of your face and you're too stupid (Enfuego) to see it. Plus the EO's going into effect in 2019.

All the CEO's and politicians stepping down.... well, hey, just because, lol.

Rewatch his speech and references to Gitmo.

He's played the media every step of the way and, again, the liberals are too stupid to put 2 and 2 together.

You see liberals and the media flipping out over his twitter spelling errors.... but he is toying with them and communicating things to people.

Btw, I don't expect you to understand any of that.

This was Bush's notification.

And Trump did that to all of them at the funeral. Obama, Hillary, Biden, Gore.... and on and on.

Same thing he did when he brought in Bill's rape victims for that debate for national TV.

Mad Dog was the voice of reason. I think this is much different than the other resignations. Mad Dog is a very honorable guy, unlike Sessions ect. his shit don't stink. Every Marine I know absolutely loves and respects him.

Mattis had to know what Trump's position was on Syria before he took this cabinet position....Trump campaigned on it... Not sure why Mattis would resign over this policy decision , since he accepted the Defense Secretary position knowing full well that this was the end game..

Perhaps because he made the decision on Syria without consulting his SECDEF and retired 4 star Marine General? Think that rubbed him the wrong way a bit?

I've said this before and I'll say it again, the USA doesn't fight wars any longer it engages in
endless circle jerks on foreign soil. For 73 years we have participated in numerous conflicts that
have resulted in a zero sum game.

3 years in Korea, 17 years in Nam, 9 years in Iraq, 5 years with ISIS and last but not least 17
years in Afghanistan. To what end?

I agree with Trump getting out of Syria and I'd like to see him get out of Afghanistan.

If we are not committed to winning then we shouldn't be playing.

Or maybe he made the decision despite the fact that Mattis didn't agree with him. It's his decision to make, and all these foreign policy decisions have turned out much better than the media ever said they would

He's been right, they've been wrong, about EVERYTHING. He's made more progress on the foreign policy front in 23 months than most president's have made in their entire term.

Clearly Obama is not even on the radar, just a lost cause that was wrong about everything. Bush started two wars, should of had a "surge" strategy from day 1, something we still don;t have in Afghanistan.

Clinton? He tried for some last minute legacy ploy in the ME, but that failed.

Poppy? The Gulf War was as well executed as can be expected

Ronnie, the cold war ended during his term.

Jimmy? the hostages

Nixon, ended Vietnam and opened the door to China

LBJ, entered Vietnam after calling Barry Goldwater a warmonger (some bullshit never changes)

JFK, last great democratic president on the international stage

Apparently Mattis told Trump he could not do Syria and defend the southern border at the same time.

So Trump withdraws from Syria.

Problem solved.

I’m not even talking about the actual decision Willie. It could end up being great. I’m talking about the entire DoD being blindsided by the decision and learning about the decision on Twitter. This isn’t the proper way we do things.
