It's not easy, but I'm a HP fan and you can get one delivered for no extra cost and their customer service for me over the years has been excellent... Go to their website and pick one out..Then call and have it delivered...I know many hate them... I don't feel that way.

by the way...

the shit goes out @ the wrong times...

agree ...

Best option I Think is go to Best Buy and get a Open Box Laptop, you will save up to 35% on Laptops and they are just returns from people that didn't like their Christmas gifts

If you are spending $800+ and only need a basic computer than your spending too much. I paid $375 for refurbished like new. From Best buy it would have been $875 before tax. Also came with a free 1 year manufacturer warranty.

My simple opinion you get what you pay for... and I agree 800 is too much for a basic.... Call HP, tell them what you're looking for and ..go from there after looking over their website..No lemon guarantee, but as good or better than any!

I think this is good advice.

Yea agreed. And you can shop for open box deals online. Manufactured refurbished are good deals too. As I mentioned earlier they usually come with a 1 year manufacturer warranty not the stores warranty. Purchased one with a faulty battery and they mailed it no charge. Just had to mail them the other battery in a prepaid package.

Look on dell.com you can find a decent enough desktop for $400. Assume she only does social media type stuff, surfing, etc? There is a clearance section as well with lower prices. They have laptops in the same range. Take the other $400 and wager something as you just saved it by asking on a gambling site.
