We've seen what happens to teams that get manhandled at the LOS this bowl season. Minn, Wisc, Aub just to name a few. I watched OU play Texas and saw two very poor defensive teams. OU won that game, but I was not impressed.

Perhaps I'm missing something and OU's offense is something I've never seen before. They have discovered a formula for throwing the ball perfectly with 6'4 WR's that run sub 3.80, So no D front 7 could ever disrupt their passing game.

I can tell you what Bama will do to disrupt OU today. They will shut OU's running game down with a front 4 that OU has never seen before. They will contain Murray in the pocket and force him to throw the ball into extremely tight spots to wR'S that are blanketed by DB's that OU has never faced. Then Bama will unleash their LB's selectively to disrupt and attack Murray throughout the day. Most importantly Bama will not be making arm tackles, whiffing with poor technique, or failing their gap responsibilities.

Bama does not beat itself, OU is going to have to take it today. Unless they have something I've never seen in 10k hours of watching film an prepping for games. Five 6'4 WR's that run sub 3.8 is something I've never seen before. Do they have that?

I won't even mention Bama's offense advantage vs OU, it's obvious to everyone.

I just can’t give up the 14 points because I’ve seen what happens to Saban teams when they play mobile quarterbacks. And I can definitely see OU, being down three scores, and getting a backdoor cover.

Bama 35-24

After watching the funny stuff Baber pulled at the end of the 1st half vs WVU. A backdoor does worry me. I just don't see how OU can hold Bama to just 35. Bama should be able to score 7+ times in this game. If OU has a chance to backdoor it will be a 54-45 type game. A Bama ML line add, might be a good hedge?

The over is 79 someone thinks this is high scoring game.

Something tells me that Saban plays a ball control game to prevent a shootout today.

Not betting the game but the under may be the safest play?

Exactly, that’s the smart thing to do anyway.

The disperity between offense and defence for OU is enormous. The Alabama offense can win this game any which way they want, the safest most damning way would be on the ground.

Maybe Code can address this, but are we all going to feel stupid for not taking
into consideration enough the Tua ankle injury??????

Even former athletes on Game Day are stating different opinions

Ball control doesn't mean much if your offensive line blows them off the ball and you are running for 50 yard TDs Can't control the game and clock that way

Bama beat UGA in the 2nd half with J Hurts and a running game. UGA is lights outs better on defense than OU. UGA is built from the ground up to stop Bama. Thousands of hours recruiting, practice and the weight room by UGA with one purpose, to beat Bama, and they couldn't.

I believe Saben wants to win this game on the ground from start to finish. Tua or Hurts won't be asked to run too much or make deep throws downfield. I believe it will be throws to make 1st downs. Bama is the only team in this game that can stop Bama from scoring. OU has to keep up scoring and get this game late into the 4th Q 55-51 type score to have a chance at this game. Saben knows this and is prepared to do that if needed. Murray is going to have to run for 250+ yards to keep this game close late into the 4th Q. He is the Heisman winner, so maybe he can do it.

If for some reason Bama can't gash OU on the ground the whole game, expect Saben to tighten up and play ball control. That's how we end up 35-24. If Tua is hurt and can't play, Bama better be able to run the ball. They did vs UGA they should be able vs OU.

I'm assuming when you say the Sooners have 5 receivers who run sub 3.80 you are referring to
the 40 yard sprint. If so, Oklahoma is the fastest team in the history of sports. Bo Jackson holds
the NFL combine record for the 40 at 4.13. Deon Sanders, who is noted as one of the fastest players
ever in the NFL ran a 4.27. Other than Bo, the top 5 all time NFL combine 40's range from 4.22 - 4.28.

Alabama's secondary is fast but they don't stand a chance with these superhuman receivers.

Bama has a QB problem with Tua ankle and Hurts an inaccurate passer. I'm willing to concede that Bama is the best team in the nation, but not today! Oklahoma plays for the National Championship 39-37

I may be missing your sarcasm and apologize if so, but read carefully what Code states
"perhaps I'm missing something"..."I've never seen that"..."do they have that" in regards
to really fast tall guys!!

good luck today Clover and again my apologies if I missed the mark...

Manhandled at the LOS? Sooners have plenty of top future NFL beef, they have the best OL in the land, Bama has not seen anything like em. DB's for Bama not used to having to cover this long, will be burned for long plays. Murray is the best, mobile QB in the NCAA. And excellent skill players at RB & WR. To boot, this is not a top Bama defense.
Again, Sooner defense is not as bad as it's stats, has some top athletes, it is a function of being on the field with the quick scoring offense and managing through garbage time in Sooner blowouts. (See, "Air Coryell" phenomenon).
Teams can win with offense and a so so defense. Last year in the playoffs, Oklahoma put 31 points up on Georgia... first half. They had not seen anything like it in the defense oriented SEC.
Tua is hobbled and will get slammed if he holds onto the ball too long like he usually does, sure the Sooners give up points but they can sack Tua and create turnovers.
Bama should win with their 15 5 star and 50 4 star players, incredible "recruited" talent, and a great coach, but Sooners will cover. 46-40.
Are you still saying Sooners will not top 14 points? I am looking at a lot of Oklahoma TT wagers.

50 3-stars? think you've been looking up oklahoma's recent recruiting history. a CNS team will never have 50 3-stars

Why would you anyone predict Bama slowing down Sooners o?!? Saban has much better d when he faced Manziel, Watson, Kelly, etc. and couldn’t stop them. Bama will probably win but you guys are giving their young d too much credit IMO. Think Murray and co put up mid to high 40s easy.

This is a good thread with no bashing or trash talk and just good opinions. As many of you know my nephew was OU's ace for their baseball team and is now in the Washington Nationals minor league so i'm rooting for the Sooners. Thst being said, i'm one of the few people I talk too that doesn't hate Bama. I live Bama and how everyone is chasing them. Bama's defense is amazing. I don't know if i'm going to play this game but i'm learning under.
