What a wk! GOY hits, I go perfect for Wk 17 & finish reg season w/great records. One of the reasons I decided to make IND a GOY was due to my historical luck in Wk 17. I thank my lucky stars that continued, & hope everyone was able to survive 2018.
Regular Season POW 12-5, Teasers 11-6, GOY 1-0, Overall 49-33-1 (55-35-1 undocumented).
Playoffs POW 0-0, Teasers 0-0, SB 0-0, Overall 0-0.
IND +1 is on an absolute roll. Last wk’s gm @ TEN was w/out a doubt a PO gm. So combine that w/big victories to end the yr, & IND is the hottest team in the POs rt now. Gotta keep riding that wave as HOU is a familiar foe, losing to them @ IND but winning @ HOU 4 wks ago. In their 1[SUP]st[/SUP]tilt, IND fell victim to an odd mis-snap in their own endzone for a “D” TD, then a sack fumble led to another score, putting IND is a huge hole. Despite this, Luck did his thing, throwing to everyone but the waterboy to send the gm into OT, where Frank Reich made a questionable decision to go for it on 4[SUP]th[/SUP]down near midfield. IND didn’t make it, & Watson got a few yds to give Fairbairn the chance to kick the gm winning FG. That decision cost IND the tie, but I think it bought the locker room w/Reich’s confidence in his men. I believe that is paying dividends now. In their 2[SUP]nd[/SUP]tilt @ HOU, Luck & co had little problems beating HOU despite giving up an INT & letting Luck get sacked twice. Watson was sacked 5 times & was pressured throughout the gm. IND was up by 10 until the last 3 min of the gm when a Watson to Hopkins connection brought them within 3. But, Luck, Marlon Mack & finally Luck drawing Clowney offsides sealed the gm. Key WRs in both matchups for HOU was Fuller in 1[SUP]st[/SUP]& Demaryius Thomas in 2[SUP]nd[/SUP]gm. W/both out now, Hopkins will be the focal pt for the young but talented IND secondary led by Desir. There’s no doubt that IND will pressure Watson again & limit the HOU run gm. To me, IND is in the driver’s seat here, so unless bad calls (by coaches or refs) or injuries derail them, this should be a win for the Colts. And if they win here, look out AFC.
