And the beat goes on with no end in sight. When the "grip" that has a hold on recruiting is broken either by rule changes or some other forced-upon method, all the top recruits will end-up going to one of these perennial top-5 or 6 schools, especially those with NFL aspirations If there is a remedy to change this, I'm all ears....
I remember when the boys stayed home and played for the University nearby in their home State. rare was the jock that traveled cross-country to play ball.

Regarding last night, the Alabama Crimson Tide will show up for all of there 2019 games and I will guarantee they will win more than a few of those games........

Mack, when I was growing up and playing HS football, all, well most of the kids wanted to go to Alabama.
Problem for me I wasn't good enough to play for Coach Bryant and went elsewhere. A few favored Auburn
but the majority of kids wanted to play for Bama.

Pretty much the same these days in this football crazy state. Kids still want to play for the Tide but only
a few make Saban's cut. Auburn gets a few and Mississippi State grabs the left overs. A few good ones
get away like the Clemson freshman receiver you saw Monday night. He was wanted by Alabama but Dabo
won out. Not many of the good Alabama HS players get away with Alabama and Auburn on the prowl.

Why a kid would want to travel from Hawaii to Alabama to play football when he could have played for
any school on the west coast is crazy to me. I glad he came though...………...

Tua wanted to play at Oregon because of Mariota.. not sure why we didn't sign him. To many QBs at that time might have been one of the reasons.

Gonna be tough for Clemson to repeat with that nasty D line gone. Its amazing what bringing senior leadership back can do. Look at UGA last year. They will get a free ticket in to the playoff because of the ACC....which isnt their fault.

LSU at 50/1 could be decent value for a long shot

Clemson should be really strong on offense but as you said, they have plenty of holes to fill on defense.
The positive for the Tigers is that they recruit well. Still, a lot of work is needed on the defensive line.

Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray is thinking about returning next season with the Sooners. He
said recently he wanted to do both if possible. Winning a national championship and a 2nd
Heisman Trophy appeal to him. It is well know he likes football over baseball and would
like to play in the NFL. (He can be a pro in one sport and amateur in the other so he could
    play both if he chooses.)

If he does play football next season, Sooner odds get much better. We shall see.

Same with Mackenzie Milton. He followed Scott Frost to UCF

All Cup Cakes, year end and year out. Clemson has the easiest road every year, for sure...

Not sure how its been "all cupcakes year end and year out".

Florida State won the natty 5 years ago. Their last 2 seasons have sucked but before that, they have 5 straight seasons of double digit wins
Va Tech (who has been down lately) had 8 straight years of double digit winning seasons

Maybe not the strongest conference, but certainly not all cup cakes

Justin Fields (No. 2 overall prospect 2018) who transferred from Georgia to Ohio State has
ask the NCAA for immediate eligibility. The former Bulldog enrolled at OSU this week.

The kid can ball and if allowed to play next season would help improve the Buckeyes standings.

Can't read a D at all. Dont know if that skill set is needed in the Big 10. If so he is going struggle.

Also if he gets granted eligibility is complete BS. It will open pandoras box in the sport. The NCAA better be careful

Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts graduated in December and will transfer
and will be eligible to play next season. Schools of interest include Miami,
Florida State, Oklahoma and Ohio State. At least at this time, others may
    enter the picture.

I've heard Miami might have the inside track for landing Hurts and the Canes
    desperately need a quarterback.

he wanted to go to Oregon but they didn't have an interest and told him they were signing Ryan Kelley instead. Then he wanted USC but both the coaches that wanted him were gone (Sark and Tuiasosopo). Kiffin got along with him and his dad really well but had Fromm committed already. Once Fromm decommitted it was all set for Tua to Bama but he absolutely wanted to follow Mariota's path to Oregon. Irony is Kelley later decommitted from Oregon....

These incoming college recruits have some difficult decisions to make when they have to commit and eventually sign that letter of intent keeping in mind that it is never a clear-path to playing time no matter what the recruiter(s) and coaches might promise them. I wonder how many of these 18 year-olds realize that with all those 5 and 4 and even 3 stars attached to their resume) ?

Alabama's Jalen Hurts is a classic example of the "musical chairs" these kids end-up having to play, just when they thought they had it made at their old alma mater, (along comes a Tua). Talk about a peculiar footnote regarding Alabama football history, the "Hurts orchestrated" comeback win against Georgia in the SEC championship game put his name in all the headlines of the college football world and a few weeks later he is gone. At least he did graduate, I'd like to think that diploma is worth something.

Alabama QB coach just took offensive coordinator job at Miami.

    Does Jalen follow?
