The chances of Lawrence being a great QB at the NFL level vs Zion being a great NBA player are greater IMO.

There are very few athletes that are can't miss. Lebron James being an example. I don't think Lawrence is a can't miss prospect, but he's pretty darn close.

There is a greater chance Zion is a Larry Johnson vs a Charles Barkley. Or whatever his ceiling comp would be.

Zion, because he's getting that guaranteed money after this year, whereas Lawrence has 2 more years to wait. Less chance of injury for Zion before the huge payday, and it's basketball vs football, low vs high contact. Hell, Lawrence has already gotten smashed outta one game his Frosh year already...

really just would you rather be nba or nfl is the question to me cause they both are insane talents who are gonna make a killing. i think the nba being more global and being able to sign bigger shoe deals etc will give williamson the better chance for long term $ and success. lawrence was so impressive on monday and should be allowed to go pro when he wants. the whole 3 years since high school rule is stupid. for certain players its just holding them back.

Edit

I read his question wrong.

After reading the thread title again, I think Lawrence has a greater chance to be great at his sport.

But I'd take the basketball route for sure. Guaranteed money and less chance of injury as Matty stated.

Zion as he can make a lot more money long term. No football player is going to trump a superstar basketball player in earning potential from their league & endorsements.

The majority of the passes weren’t very good throws .. ice receivers made him look great .. of course prospect wise he is epic .. I think. Zion is one of the best basketball players I have ever seen

Zion. No question. Larger contract, more lucrative endorsements, air conditioned practices, and don't have to worry about getting laid out by 300+ lb beasts.

DURHAM, N.C. — Shut it down? Are you kidding?
Don’t shut it down, Zion Williamson. Throw it down. Keep playing. Keep winning. Keep flying and swatting and dunking and spinning and scoring. Keep sending the Cameron Crazies into ecstasy. Keep joking with your Duke teammates in the locker room.

Squeeze every fun minute out of it while you can.
On Wednesday, Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen offered his opinion on what the most dazzling freshman in years should do with his career. He thinks Williamson should sit out the rest of his one and only college basketball season and protect his NBA draft stock.
“I think he’s locked up the biggest shoe deal, I think he’s definitely going to be the No. 1 pick, I think he’s done enough for college basketball that it’s more about him personally,” Pippen said on ESPN. “I would shut it down. I would stop playing because I feel he could risk a major injury that could really hurt his career.”
Shut it down? No way. Crank it up. Set it off. Throw it down.
Play on.
For the record, Williamson has no interest in taking Pippen’s advice. He said as much Saturday night after Duke’s 72-70 victory over previously undefeated Virginia.
“I can’t just stop playing,” he said, after a 27-point, nine-rebound effort that added to his oeuvre of jaw-dropping highlights. “I’d be letting my teammates down. I’d be letting Coach K down. I’d be letting a lot of people down.
“If I was going to sit out, I wouldn’t have gone to college. I’m thankful that Coach K gave me the opportunity.”
