2-5 favorite finishes last, double digits longshots finish 1-2-3 ...... you know the drill, right?

WRONG!

Show payouts paid well below normal ....

15-1 winner paid $33.80 / $13.40 / $9.60
23-1 placer paid /$23.20 / $10.80
152-1 show paid // $34.20

Obviously some folks had the notion to bet very heavily against the favorite to show.
Favorite in question was trained by Broberg and ridden by Thorton.

2 races later .... in the 4th, another Broberg 3-5 favorite well beaten ...

2nd 17-1
3rd) 39-1
4th) 20-1

In the 4th, show pay for 82-1 shot was only $15, others about $10

Its based on a SEPERATE pool and Deltas pools are very small.

No duh, a whole seperate pool ..... One in which the odds-on favorites were not odds-on.

the win favorite is not always the show favorite. Those pools are very small. Last minute bets can throw things out of wack quickly at those dumpy night tracks. You’re very welcome.
