To me Calhoun is a clutch player. He suffered a batting slump and injury in the first half of 2018 season but came back second half in batting and great outfield play.
Reasons for trade considerations are that they want to bring up minor league phenom Jo Adell and make room for a spot on the roster. Trading Trout is not a consideration and apparently neither is Upton.
I’d rather they traded Upton than Calhoun. To me Calhoun plays with heart and passion which is something Upton lacks when it comes to making plays in the outfield. Calhoun’s season batting average wasn’t up to par in 2018 but he changed his stance approach in the second half which showed he was back to form. Head to head I give the edge to Calhoun over Upton.
Any Angels followers here that can chime in with an opinion? Just wondering what others think?
