Five quarterback transfers that could be good at landing schools. Each was highly
recruited and a couple made their mark at former schools. Could be others, if so list
them.

Justin Fields, Georgia to Ohio State (was 5-star recruit for Georgia)
Jalen Hurts, Alabama (has visited Maryland, Miami and Oklahoma)
Kelly Bryant, Clemson to Missouri (lost job to Trevor Lawrence)
Tate Martell, Ohio State to ? (5star freshman recruit plus addition of Fields)
Austin Kendall, Oklahoma to (West Virginia or Miami, could be others)

All five have a chance to be strong contributors at their new school.

Hope hurts come to MD. always liked the guy and a smart player and im a terp alum. if he wanted to do whats best for the next level he should go to oklahoma but i suspect the competition for that job would be tough. at maryland it should be his job and not have to look over his shoulder. hope he follows locksley to md.

Fields leaves UGA because he cant beat out Fromm, Martell gets pissed because Fields will challenge him for the 1 spot at OSU so he wants to leave.

What a bunch of snowflake pussies.

You know this transfer circus is getting strange when a 2019 recruit wants to transfer. That's
the situation with USC's 2019 5-star quarterback recruit Bru McCoy. McCoy enrolled at USC
on January 5th but has changed his mine and wants to go somewhere else. He's entered his
name in the transfer portal. Getting crazy strange out there...…………...

Remember Jacob Eason, the freshman quarterback who started for Georgia back in 2016.
Eason was injured the following year and lost his job to Jake Fromm, so he transferred to
Washington. He sat out 2018 and is ready to start for the Huskies this season. He's 6-6,
230 pounds and has a strong arm. With an offense that returns 9 starters, I look for Eason
to have a big season during 2019. Unfortunately for the offense, the defense must replace
8 or 9 starters. Eason has two years of eligibility left.

So if this USC 2019 recruit transfers, would he have to then sit out the 2019 season ?

Yes, unless he can get a waiver from the NCAA. He attended a few days of classes. Arguing that situation changed since the off coord left is his best bet.

Fields also has to sit out unless he gets waiver. He claimed a racial incident a few months ago, so I doubt he would have an issue. Not to mention the whole Urban thing.

Since most of these "Graduate QB" transfers will not be playing in the NFL with, maybe a few having a long-shot to play in the CFL...(does Arena football even exist today?), it would be interesting to see where most of these guys end-up in the real world after their playing days are over.

I still can't see what their motives are other than to try and prove something they might feel they were denied at their old Alma Mater". We know these guys have a lot of pride......and egos.

i think most will be fine in the “real world”. Remember that they have college degrees. Not hard trying to land a job when you were a former starting qb of a college football team. If Jalen Hurts is applying for a job in the state of Alabama, which Tide fan is NOT hiring him??

plus these guys are now in school for masters degree. Hopefully they take advantage of “free college” and end up with a masters. As long as they are not total “fuck ups”, then they should be quite fine

You make valid points, they have earned their Bachelor Degrees which indicates they have some character in their makeup and the probability of them fitting in somewhere in the "real world" looks pretty good unless they go completely off the deep-end. The pursuit of a Masters Degree is certainly a worthwhile effort and if they have one more year left in them on the gridiron and a coach is willing to find a slot for him........... why not give it a go.

I guess I'm just a sentimental old fool who believes a player should be loyal to his Old Alma Mater till the very end......

i agree to being “loyal to their alma mater”. However how many of those “grad transfers” were scheduled to be starters in 2019 from the team they transferred from? They probably “love” their school but they also want to play football
