...but this doesn't mean he can't simply deliver it to his own hand-picked audience and speak to Americans without TV cameras showing Libs disapproval while he's talking

Sorry, Nance, but this is a power-grab that will completely backfire on you. You've just set Trump up to steal the entire narrative around border security, the ongoing fabulous economy, and who's really responsible for the government shutdown.

At least if he gave this speech to Congress, as has been done for 116 years, you and your fellow Liberals could get equal airtime showing your disdain for Trump with a flat-across face, a shake of the head, or the good 'ol thumbs-down sign
:>(

NOW, you allow Trump and the GOP to gain control of the narrative. Question is, are they smart enough to realize this? #%()

The government is going on a month now with the shut down. As long as this continues the leader will take the blame and it will be next to impossible for the GOP to gain control of the narrative.

The GOP is losing on this shut down to the same extent that dems lost on Kavaughn(sp). This shut down though is carrying on longer then his hearings.

Don’t see how Republicans can turn the narrative as long as the shutdown continues.

Nobody cares about the Pelosi-Schumer shutdown except Fake News.

This isn't about Trump.

They promised us border security in 1986, and again in 2006.

Time's up.

BUILD THE WALL, DEPORT THEM ALL!

The same could be said about the confirmation of Kavaugh(sp). Most couldn't care less of who sat on the supreme court. But it did bump Trump's approval rating the same as this is declining it...

will be very difficult but giving Trump an opportunity to steal the narrative is stupid as hell. It's like calling a pass on 3rd and 8 when you're up 6 on your 25 yard line with :55 left in the game and opponent has no timeouts left. hopefully this backfired on the loons but, sigh, I doubt the GOP is smart enough to take advantage

No, the GOP isn't smart enough but Trump certainly is. You know he's going to seize on this and hold his own SOTU somewhere, either from the Oval Office or probably in a huge venue with thousands of supporters.

Yeah undoubetdly a dumb, petty move on Pelosi’s part. But they have enough cushion to probably get away with it.

The only reason people blieve that this is going badly for Trump is the Media keeps saying it is and people belive them.

Believe what you see not what you read.

Don’t think it’s the end of the world for Trump or some sort of stain on presidency, but hard to argue that this isn’t a negative for him. Not really sure how you can spin it the other way

giving him too much credit. if he was smart enough he's have taken pelosi and schumer apart on live TV when the 4 of them (i believe pence was standing in corner with a dunce cap on) were talking about corder security. Sitting in front of them and never mentioning that both of them, especially chuck, have not only supported border wall funds but even pleaded to Congress to pass bills during the Obama administration showed how bad he is at politics

If he was smart, he wouldn't have waited two years into his Presidency to tackle immigration after the Dems take the house.

Those 15k people gathering for his speeches wasn't because corporate tax cuts was the #1 issue why he stomped the rest of the GOP field.

Coming into office is when he had more numbers, potential leverage to make D senators in red states run against it, real political capital, leverage within his own party (you want tax cuts? I want this) etc, etc

Now the globalists basically are just running out the clock. Pelosi/Schumer will look like total jackasses in the process, but if you want open borders then there has to be a few sacrificial lambs along the way.

This is what I mean. Headline from Washington Post...

Most Americans oppose the wall — and oppose ending the shutdown by funding it

Now when you go to the article you find it's a poll and it's not MOST but a small majority.
