Agree.

I don't see any way this shutdown is good for Trump. He is being stubborn, which is fine for him, that's the way he is and his supporters appreciate him. On some issues his stubborness and "toughness" would be just fine. This is a different issue though, regular folks are fat out just not getting paid, most people with those type of jobs can't afford to not get paid for long.

This is not going to end well for Trump. Either he is a gonna cave and admit defeat or he will keep at it and the longer this goes the worse it's going to look for him. Even though both sides play a part in the shutdown. It just looks much worse for the republicans.

Before this I was thinking Trump would be an underdog in the next elections simply due to democrats who thought Hillary was a lock last election didn't feel the need to vote, making it a point to vote next time after learning their lesson the hard way. As this shutdown drags on and on I think he will become even a greater dog. Have the futures moved at all?

The wall is flat stupid.

There are many that still drink the kool aid he pours, that’s sad. I’d rather have him than Hillary but he’s gonna piss the wrong person off. All about his narcissism, not the people of the USA

How did you come up with this opinion?

Don’t know, but I don’t think a wall is it. You could amp up border patrol a bunch for 5 billion.
that's like saying a prison shouldn't have walls they just need more prison guards

good thinking

It seems there is no logic as to who gets paid like normal, who is furloughed and at least eligible for unemployment, and who has to work not knowing when they get paid.Military gets paid but not Coast guard, post office good to go
No to air traffic controllers and prison guards. It's crazy, I couldn't blame an air traffic controller for quitting and moving on, now you can't replace him
Essential people will be forced into moving on before much more time passes

You could do it like that sheriff in Arizona with the prison in the desert with no walls, go ahead and escape, you'll never make it through 100 miles of desert alive to reach civilization

If they are at the early stages of it, yes
People will make rash decisions in hard times. Lots of guys quit the military when they have 12 or more of the 20 needed years to retire.

No, lots of people don’t quit the military after 12 years. That’s an absurd opinion and not remotely accurate. Most separate after their first enlistment period is up.

Im not against putting up barriers in areas of high traffic, but to think just putting up a wall completely along our southern border will solve all this is a bit naive. The drug cartel smuggles much if not most of their drugs right thru our POE, so a wall won’t stop the drugs from flowing in. If you think the drug lords will just close up shop because of a wall, we’ll that just won’t happen. Another problem is a very large percentage of immigrants come here legally but then overstay their welcome by not completing the process, just stay here illegally and we do nothing about it. Those are 2 big problems a wall won’t fix. Standing there yelling, “We need a wall” over and over again saying it will solve the problem isn’t the right way.

Homeland security and border patrol agents say we need barriers.. that's good enough for common sense people.. Trump prevails imo on this issue.. anyone that thinks the wall is stupid , is just a plain idiot..
