First off I am a believer that whilst NE played very well vsLAC they were the benefactors of an incompetent game-plan by the LAC coachingstaff in playing cover 3 rather than man and pressing the NE receivers—until itwas 35-7….the other side of the ball was nearly as incompetent as LAC continuedto run on first down with no success leaving themselves in 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] andlong the entire first half—this despite the fact they had some success passingon first down…..add this incompetence to the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] week on the road,an early start and cold weather and you had a perfect storm.

Different situation entirely this week.

The Chiefs are well rested, they have been at home the last4 weeks (plus an extra day of rest and no travel here helps) and are 8-1 athome and but for some Rivers magic would’ve been 9-0, importantly their defenseplays above itself at home and only concedes 17 points per game. The Chiefs passrush is elite with Houston, Ford and Jones and we will see a lot more mancoverage this week with KC counting on that pass rush to get pressure on Brady, and we all know he’s not the same QB when under constant pressure. Several oftheir road losses the Pats have been held to 20 points or less, I can’t seethem winning unless they get well into the 30’s and I just don’t see thishappening.

The Pats are only 3-5 on the road this season and 2 of thosewins came against the awful Bills and Jets….the Pats are not the same team onthe road as at home and their defense will not look like world beaters thisweek.

Offensively we know the Chiefs are electric….they willbenefit from Watkins being more healthy now and the OL is also looking healthy.Last week NE had great success at forcing Rivers outside of the pocket where heis not comfortable and seemingly always threw the ball away in this situation, but when you do this to Mahomes he’s the master at extending the play andeither running for a 1[SUP]st[/SUP] down or waiting until one of his manytargets fights their way open and his arm strength is incredible…on the flipside, when Mahomes has a clean pocket his record is extraordinary with 41 TD’sand only 4 picks! So there is no easy way to defend Mahomes.

I think the Chiefs offense will roll this weekend and be fartoo much for NE to handle….will Brady put up some points, sure but I think theKC defense will make enough big plays and bring enough pressure to prevent thepats keeping pace with a truly great offense.

KC win and cover the 3

Yeah its really great here we have internet, microwaves, mobile phones, roads and tv’s ect!!!!

We get all of the playoffs live, we get about 5-6 games perweek live plus redzone and all of the various shows via a combination of freeto air and pay tv (espn)…plus obviously we have access to NFL game pass forthose of us that pay for it.

The start times for me this weekend are about 6am and 10am(Monday morning) respectively so its not too bad…the early start games like theLAC @ NE are about 4:35am which is harsh.

AFC thread title but here's my NFC pick:

Rams +3.5

The addition of Talib is huge for LA, with him they are the3[SUP]rd[/SUP] rated D against the pass, without him they are 30[SUP]th[/SUP]…..withhim they concede only 17.5 points per game and I can’t see NO shutting outDonald like they did in the first match up.

NO have a few injury concerns and I expect LA to have moresuccess running the ball than Philly did—remember this year’s Philly squad wastotally different in running the ball to last years so holding them to 49 onthe ground last week not as impressive as it may seem.

The more I have watched NO in recent times the more I just thinkthings are not right with their offense, if LA can limit Thomas I think theywill struggle to move the ball…whereas I feel the Rams are starting to looklike their old self again—I know 3 games is a small sample but in terms ofmomentum I feel their offense has it putting up 30,48,31 in the last 3 and theyappear to have everyone healthy at the right time (minus Kupp)

In my opinion this game has 1 score either way written allover it so I like the Rams +3.5 and I give them a great shot to win SU.
