[FONT=&quot]Connecticut leads all states because it receives only 74 cents back for every dollar that residents pay in federal taxes. As one of only 10 states that pays more in federal taxes than it receives, Connecticut is known as a so-called "donor state'' that essentially helps other states that receive more than they send to Washington, D.C. The state receives relatively little money back from the federal government in public education grants and Medicaid, among others, as Fairfield County millionaires and billionaires pay large amounts of federal taxes.

[FONT=&quot]State officials now fear that the situation could get even worse because the 2017 federal tax law that was signed by President Donald Trump includes provisions for capping the deduction for state and local taxes at $10,000 per couple - making many Connecticut residents pay even more in federal taxes in a tax increase largely on the rich.

Everything about the taxes in Connecticut sucks. If you think this is bad, our state taxes are worse. With democrats controlling the budget for essentially all of my lifetime, we have high income taxes, high sales tax, high real estate tax, absurdly high car taxes, high gasoline taxes, high liquor taxes, high user fees, high licensing costs.......

We have the largest or one of the largest disparities between wealth and poverty, go figure A? Because we tax everything to give the poor more money, so they're comfortable being poor and dysfunctional

Even the federal government fucks us

With all that we have, income, education, wealth, proximity to NYC & Boston...... people are leaving the state in droves

You mean people of substance, the tax base, are leaving the state in droves.

Good old Mass isn't much better.

Watching that liar talk makes me puke in my mouth, or maybe it's the liter of scotch, butt Dick Blumenthal is another Democrat that's just not happy with the man in the mirror, so he created a whole new fake narrative about himself.

It's genetics

OUR RANKING: Least tax-friendly
STATE INCOME TAX: 3% (on up to $20,000 of taxable income for married joint filers and up to $10,000 for those filing individually) — 6.99% (on the amount over $1 million for married joint filers and over $500,000 for those filing individually)
SALES TAX: 6.35%
ESTATE TAX/INHERITANCE TAX: Yes/No
GO TO CONNECTICUT’S FULL STATE TAX PROFILE

One of Kiplinger’s top ten least tax-friendly states for retirees, the Constitution State is a tax nightmare for many retirees. Connecticut has the fourth-highest property taxes in the U.S. and relief for seniors on those taxes is fairly scanty. Residents in some high-cost areas will bump up against the new $10,000 cap on federal deductions for state and local taxes.

Though Connecticut does not tax military pensions, it has no exemptions or tax credits for other types of pensions or other retirement income. And it taxes a portion of Social Security benefits for taxpayers above certain income thresholds. Cars, too, are taxed steeply.
Estates valued over $3.6 million are subject to estate tax. The exemption will rise to $5.1 million in 2020. Rates range from 7.2% to 12%.

-------------------------------------------------------

Gee, CT ranked as a "least friendly tax state", shocking

It's all the fucking idiots ever do, raise taxes, and it's never enough and they never learn

Guess what the democrats elected by people who don't pay taxes are about to do? Why raise taxes again for like the 7th time in 9 years, and we were a high tax state before that run
