If you watch closely, there is offensive holding and pass interference or defensive back holding on almost every play, it seems they decide to call it at strategic times to help one team or another.
I do not think games are "scripted", no way the players* or coaches* are involved en mass.
I do not think Vegas controls anything, so that the side with the most action loses, to their benefit, especially games of this magnitude.
I think the NFL has officials, maybe only one or two on a crew, (that do not know the other is involved) have a team they want to win get the beneficial calls, if necessary, as needed. No emails, no texts, but are told. Did they want Kroenke in the Super Bowl yesterday? Did they want the Patriot brand to continue, one more year, with Kraft at the helm?
Yesterday, the official went too far with the non call on the Rams pass interference, and it is non reviewable, and they were stuck.
But there were plenty of calls in both games that seemed to favor the Rams and the Patriots, even after being reviewed, they seemed to be very questionable.
The NFL apparently decided that the public is tired of all the flags and let them play this year in the playoffs and it blew up in their face yesterday. DBs figured it out on some of the teams, it was ridiculous.
They need to have an option to review pass interference and other calls (like the roughing on Brady) without making the game even more ridiculous.
The NFL brand took another hit yesterday. KC did not touch the ball in OT, this is another problem.
And the NFL cannot legally fix games, since it is "entertainment", the notion that it is entertainment is not legally sound, that is nonsense.
(*yes in the history of the NFL some players or coaches along the way took a dive for some $$$)
