All year in the NFL I hear people saying “Stop with all the flags! Just let them play! It’s not even fun to watch anymore! The refs are trying to rig the game!”
Then when a no-call comes up, and people are on the losing side of a bet, or their team loses its the same exact criticisms. “NFL isn’t even fun to watch anymore. Refs are rigging the game. Etc.”
There were no-calls on both sides of the Rams/Saints game. Anyone watch that play clock? The refs missed a massive pick play that would have negated a KC TD.
The fact is, there will always be no-calls and there’s will always be certain refs throwing too many flags, etc. The only way a team can make sure that their game isn’t won or lost by a flag/penalty - Score more points/Don’t allow as many points so that it’s not a nail biter.
Guaranteed if they put an oversight committee in NY that phoned in all missed panalties, everyone here would be saying how lame the NFL is because of all the flags. Just like when they were throwing flags at defenders for even looking at the QB early in the year.
