And you thought you had to wait until next September for the NFL. Why wait when we have the new Alliance of American Football (AAF) starting the week after the Super Bowl on February 9th. Ten teams with cool nicknames such as the Hotshots (Arizona), Iron (Birmingham) and Stallions (Salt Lake) just to name a few. And coaching, will be some legendary football names as Steve Spurrier (Orlando), Mike Martz (San Diego) and Mike Singletary (Memphis). The teams are playing a 10 game schedule with playoffs. CBS Sports will televise the action and of course the sports books will have betting lines.

It's interesting to note that if the AAF survives this first season, then next year it will directly compete against the revived XFL (remember them) in the spring of 2020.

Follow-up

Guaranteed that there will be websites, forums and pro handicappers that will be popping up all over the internet when the first games are played. In the meantime, go to the league site for more information: aaf.com

Correction - make that 8 teams in the new AAF League.

Pretty sure these will be prime time games on CBS Sports Network. I remember when the USFL first came out in the mid-80's and more recently the XFL. Pointspreads were way off in the beginning and you could make some green. Of course, the books capped your action because they were afraid of soft lines and sharp money.
