Personally, I think the Rams don't deserve to go on to the Super Bowl and not just because of the water cooler no PI call.

McVey explained the small usage of Todd Gurley as being because of 'the flow of the game'. WTF? The flow of the game? Kudos to CJ Anderson who has done a great job this season but Gurley has to be hurt to some degree. He says no, McVey says no but if that is the truth then you don't even deserve to go to a Super Bowl leaving your greatest weapon and player on the bench. Gurley had 1 catch and 4 carries for the entire fucking game. Are you kidding me?

Saving him for the SB? No one knew Gurley was going to ride the pine 90% of the game. Hurt? Or knew they had the game won before the first snap? He's not hurt at all. A guy anxious to play you would've seen it. He's riding pine calm and collective KNOWING, he's still collecting a check. Not a single bead of sweat from nervousness, shaking with excitement or worrisome in fear, in the game. No emotion. He already knew they were winning the game. Hes playing in 2 wks.

Gurley is definitely dinged. McVay is not telling the truth, which is fine, coaches cannot let that kind of info out all the time.

Even against Dallas you could clearly see Gurley was not 100%. Versus Dallas, the Rams knew >90% of time whether or not Dallas would stunt... Dallas stunts a lot and does not like to blitz. That was HUGE, thus 273 running yards for the Rams. Rams OG made this statement publicly.

I would bet that Gurley only plays about the same amount of plays as with the Saints, or maybe not at all. I would guess Gurley will have some kind of surgery after the season but I have no inside info, it just seems obvious.

So I agree with the post that the Rams are fortunate having won vs Dallas with an incredible advantage and beating the Saints with the terrible PI non call.

You guys are overlooking the most important factor regardingHurley—REST!

Leading into the Dallas game he was given a nice rest periodto get the knee right, then he had to turn around and travel and play a week later….with2 weeks between games I would expect a lot better contribution from him.

He also still played about 50% of the snaps so its not likehe was on the bench the whole game, he also was going against an elite runstopping team.

I wouldn’t be counting him out given the rest period thistime.

McVay wasn’t faultless in the NFC Championship but I feel hemade less errors than Payton—who stubbornly kept trying to run 21 carries for48 yards, I think McVay read the play early and decided it wasn’t Gurley’s dayso he wasn’t going to overuse him.

So NFL Head Coaches have suddenly started telling the truth about players that are < 100%??

Gurley isn't right. He also dropped 2 easy catches that he normally grabs. To me, he is clearly not right. You don't bench guys like this if nothing is wrong.

He wasn’t 100% vs NO but off 2 weeks rest I think you’ll seehis performance far closer to the Dallas game than the Saints game

He probably is still hurt, but I don't blame him for benching him either. He caused an INT (cost them 3 points, potentially 7) and caused them to go for a FG (likely cost them 4 points) instead of getting a First down and having first and goal. My guess is his injury affected his practicing this week and they couldn't afford for him to be rusty, so they put Thicc Boy in because he's been hammering defenses in the run game, and will play Gurley more in the SB.

He had 4 weeks off before the Dallas game, did not play that last 2 regular season games.
He played against Dallas and was not himself, and I am guessing that his injury was aggravated vs The Boys. And I am telling you againhe did not look like himself vs Dallas, even with >100 yds... on that TD run he was not going full blast though he was fast enough.
I think that he has aggravated it again and this two week rest will not help that much.
We shall see.
But in calculating my approach to the Super Bowl, I am assuming Gurley will not carry 20 times, be thrown to 10 times, as we would have assumed if he was 100% and all of this was not happening. I am assuming he will be the same as the New Orleans game.

I thought gurley was just benched.

he was playing horrible that 1st quarter and was costing his team dearly. He clearly wasnot focused and mcvay saw it too. He went straight bill belichek and benched his best player in a crucial game.

here is hoping that changes and we get mvp gurley

I do not think he was just "benched"... for the goddam NFC Championship game? He sat out 2 weeks at the end of the season for a reason, a knee. Then they had a 2 week bye. Then he played vs Dallas and yes got yards but IMO he was not close to 100%.

Gurley, when healthy, is the best all around RB in the NFL, power, speed, vision, explosiveness. At 100% he would make the Rams capable of winning the game vs NE. Without him being his old self I do not see the Rams winning at all.
