The number just keeps getting larger each year. The sad part for many of these
players is they won't be drafted wasting a year they could have played in college.
According to one NFL official, about 40 percent of these juniors will not be selected
during the seven round draft.

Either some are getting bad advice or have egos bigger than their ability to play
at the next level.

Could be a little of everything? Bad advice, shitty grades, dont care about college degree, fear of getting injured their senior year, need $$$ NOW, etc.

Around 40% of undrafted free agent rookies either make an NFL roster or practice squad. Signing bonuses and guaranteed contract money varies. Plus they'll get paid (not much) for mini camp and training camp.

Looks like a bunch of these guys who have 5th round talent or lower are just betting on themselves

It's bad advice imo. UGA have a lot coming out, but most wont amount to nothing because of money. If you look at guys that returned like Chubb and Michel, it paid off big time.
