really interesting interview I hear from Jonathan Haidt who is a professor at NYU and author of several books including "The Coddling of the American Mind"
https://www.happinesshypothesis.com/
https://www.thecoddling.com/

he's talking about how students have changed in his 25 years teaching at UVA and NYU and explains that the "call out culture", as he coins it, means that in a room of 300 students he no longer teaches to the most normal and RATIONAL type of person. Instead he must teach to the most SENSITIVE student or he knows these kids will hit social media and claim offense for something he didn't even conceive as offensive. 20 years ago he said if one student was offended they would wait for the room to clear out and tell him directly what he said and why it was offensive, but that hasn't happened in at least 5 years. Now kids look for the safety of social media where you are never wrong and will always find support for your views, no matter how obscure or ridiculous

cool insight for how social activists....errr, college students, are literally changing the content and the method that university professors present each semester.
