I have always done our taxes myself but this year we really need the refund badly and when claiming the EIC or Child Tax Credit the IRS makes you wait till Feb 15 before they even start processing your return.

I saw H&R Block offers up to $3000 in a 0% advance on your refund. The catch is they charge a shit ton to do your taxes.

Was wondering if anyone has used them and gotten the advance and was it worth it?

Thanks

How much extra do they charge you for the cash advance?

Take that extra charge and divide it by 3k. What percentage do you get?

If its worth paying the interest on a short term loan, then do it

If you are charged $150 extra on your return b/c of this and the IRS doesnt pay you the refund until Feb 28 (just throwing out a date), then you are looking at paying 5% interest on a 3k loan.

Up to you

If they are charging you like $400 to do your taxes its not exactly 0%. That's baked in. Seriously it only takes a few weeks for a refund to come in. Donate plasma or something..your never gonna dig out if your blowing $400 to get $2k or whatever
