I am holding 20 bitcoins in a wallet and wondering if i should sell lit all. Any of you have any insights on this below post?

If you are holding bitcoin, sell now even if you want to hold long term because there will be a better buy opportunity in the coming weeks.
Quadrigacx, largest canadian exchange is in the process of exit with all client funds. We are talking amount in the range of billion. News hasn't hit any major news outlet yet but it will once victims start losing patience and pile up the complaints and when the news hits, it will affect the overall bitcoin market.

Well i was against bitcoin and didnt get suckered into the hype last year when everyone was going crazy. Finally it crashed and stayed in the $3500 range. So decided to use betcris's bitcoin withdrawal option to re-direct some of my withdrawals to my blockchain.info wallet over the past few months. All withdrawals happened when the bitcoin was in the $4300 to $3500 range. I really haven't signed up for an exchange to convert to fiat and was going to let it ride to see what happens. I feel like i should have just simply stayed out but was just using winnings. Wondering if i should just hold onto it or send it back to my betcris account with one big deposit.

From yesterday...
QuadrigaCX, a crypto-exchange based in Canada announced that it is down for maintenance. This is probably not only a technical issue. The firm is mired in a legal battle with CIBC, one of Canada's largest banks. Things look worse for users who want to withdraw funds. Social media is full of complaints and concerns that the company is out of business.

Apart from the legal issues, there is also a more tragic side: the death of Gerry Cotten, the founder of the exchange. According to some speculation, Cotten may have had the keys to the cold storage.

While QuadrigaCX's story may seem an isolated issue, issues with exchanges do not help the crypto-sphere.

Doesn't sound like the entire sky will fall on Bitcoin but who knows

Doesn't sound like u lost alot ..but I know coinbase let's u withdrawal thru PP....but if u have 70,000$ In btc you may get those tax forms to fill out from any of the big exchanges if u cash that out..

They send them mandatory to big buyers and movers.. I wish I had advise for u man .maybe start slowly taking it down to 5 btcs

Coinbase fees are ridiculous. If i get out of bitcoin, i will simply send everythign back to my betcris account and use my regular withdrawal options no point in using coinbase.

I am just curious to see what bitcoin experts think of the market....is it going to further crash or would it climb back up. how is the future looking

thanks for the input though.

I did some digging into this....Quadrigacx site has been offline for 4 days now. They already had issues for months. Lots of people who have money there are worried. Quadrigacx was going to be my exchange if i cashed my bitcoins to my account becasue they offer 10 to 15% better rate their other exchanges but i was quitely watching them. They just kept going down and down and now it looks like exit scam. lots of info in the reddit subthread https://www.reddit.com/r/QuadrigaCX/

it's alternate currency that isn't regulated .. if it's a total scam .. why does Amazon for example take Bitcoin as payment for products.. Bitcoin will be the wave of future .. cryptos aren't dying out completely.. it's just hard to understand for people took me years to figure out how it works

Good luck to you sir! Bitcon is NOT A SCAM! Yes it's fallen 92% since Dec 17 highs, but THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT A SCAM, its still a good deal. Like for exapmle if you bought a house in a nice street and it fell in value by 92% would you sell? HELL NO, you'd still live there

So in conclusion, Bitcoin is NOT A SCAM so DO NOT DIS BITCOIN!

I hear you but that is a bad example. I can live in the house and it would be my dwelling. Bitcoin is just a number/program in the computer. Its like i bought a house in a nice street and year later learning that scientists have discovered that the entire street is sitting on a weak porous limerock vulnerable to sink holes.

Buy when there's blood in the streets and sell when everybody is celebrating. Bitcoin is a GREAT buy right now.

Funny to hear people's take on the crypto world, often opinions come from 2 completely different ends of the spectrum

I had a good laugh at what simplejack said. Comparing Bitcoins to a house? Really? One is real, one is a concept.

simplejack is a banned everfresh ghost. everfresh has been running around telling everyone the sky is falling with bitcoin back when bitcoin was under $100 a share.
