Eight teams playing a 10 game regular season with playoffs. While the season opens on Friday, I believe three games will be televised on Saturday on CBS Sports Cable. Some interesting notes about the new league:

. All teams must attempt a two-point conversion after a touchdown, as there are no extra point kicks.

. There are no kickoffs. Teams will begin on their own 25 yard line.

. Onside kick attempts will be replaced by a 4th and 10 attempt at the team's own 35 yard line.
(so in effect, there is no kicking of any kind in the AAF).

. The play clock will run for 30 seconds, not 40.

. There are no TV timeouts and the league overall will have 60% fewer commercials than the NFL. The league is aiming to complete games in 2 1/2 hours.

Should be interesting and might be more entertaining than the just completed Super Bowl.
