I saw the entire hearing.

It was sickening.

Chairman Nadler was a complete prick, bullied Whitaker in many ways, distinctly outside the way the proceedings usually are aplied.

The Dems:

Bullied him relentlessly
Challenged the credibility of his office
Cut him off all the time, sometimes after he said 3-4 words
Yelled at him
Condescending
Harassed him
Challenged his past positions, smeared him
Waved fingers and papers at him
Insulted him directly

The whole time they tried to trick him (over and over and over) into commenting on Mueller, on whether he has spoken to Trump about the Mueller investigation, and why he did not recuse himself on the Special Counsel investigation.

The letter that invited him listed the opioid epidemic, immigration, gun violence, all of that... but all they did was hammer Whitaker on Mueller and Whitaker's process to recuse himself.

I have seen a lot of these... this was far and away, distinctly, the most brutal, and the key was the way Nadler allowed the Dems to abuse Whitaker verbally. And he only has 3 more working days on the job...

The GOP did almost nothing, one guy called point of order the way Nadler allowed the questioning, he was voted against a few times. One old blonde gal said the whole thing was an embarrassment. The rest were pussies.

This does not bode well for the future...

Agree.
Whitaker was spectacular, his demeanor, his approach, his answers... damn near perfect.
Unfortunately the MSM completely misrepresented the hearing, smeared Whitaker as not answering questions, deceitful, all of that, and the normies will get the wrong idea, of course. I expected that.
But I still say it was the most brutal ignorant approach I have ever seen and a ruthless campaign by this committee will continue and be destructive.

Then you must not have watched any of the Kavanaugh hearings. At least they didn't accuse Whitaker of raping women.

This was a classic example of same shit, different day.

Their arrogance is what infuriates me the most. They actually believe their performing a public service
when in reality they're just wasting time and money. What will come from these hearings? Absolutely nothing.

It's the same that comes from all the Senate investigations. Large amounts of time and money are spent and
the result is a meaningless report and sometimes no report at all.

Congress makes a mockery of the Constitution and laughs at the founders on a regular basis.

And it doesn't seem to matter who we vote out or who we vote in. They pretty much all suck.

Yes I saw the Kavanaugh hearings.

And it was disgusting what they did with no evidence and a left wing proven Trump hating victim who could not even remember where it happened, etc.

But the attack on Whitaker (though of lesser importance) was so much more ignorant, aggressive, outrageous and personal and to me with a creep like Nadler in charge is a significant threat that will continue and cause meaningful damage.

I think after awhile Whitaker became amused at the show. He even had some fun with it
when he told Nadler he thought his time had expired. It was his way of politely saying
kiss my ass. In any event it tuned out to be just another Democratic clusterfuck that we
all have come to expect. They really are a bunch of dysfunctional rubes.

This is the new norm ever since Trump's election.

Remember Maxine Waters always taking her "time back" whenever their political assault victim of the moment tried to respond? I forget who it was, but I remember he agreed to testify "only if the democrats allowed him to respond to their questions" and they agreed to that simple and fair stipulation that should be given to begin with. But then they went back on their word, not a surprise, they are the scum of the earth in DC

Barr = Sessions 2.0, I'm afraid.

Boy I hope not.

Is there nobody in that Washington swamp that will take Trump's back the way Holder did for Obama?

Hell, Holder used dirty tactics. I just want fairness. And I want the true unAmerican asses to be penalized. This deep state protectionism has to stop or the country is doomed.

From everything I've read Barr appears to fit the bill for Trump. However I have a queasy
feeling in my gut that you guys are right.

What Trump and more importantly the country needs is an AG as ruthless as Mueller.

In 2017 Barr said that there was "nothing inherently wrong" with Donald J. Trump's calls for
investigating Hillary Clinton while the two were both running for president. Barr added that
an investigation into the Uranium One controversy was more warranted than looking into whether
Trump conspired with Russia to influence the 2016 elections. Barr also said in 2017 that he didn't
think "all this stuff" about incarcerating or prosecuting Hillary Clinton was appropriate, but added
that "there are things that should be investigated that haven’t been investigated."

That statement seems a bit wishy washy to me. That kind of talk leads me to believe he's more suited
to be a member of Congress than an AG.

Want to know what's in Mueller's report? I'll bet you do but you may never know.

Justice Department rules require that Mueller submit a confidential report when his work is done.

William Barr, the man likely to be confirmed as his next boss, has cast doubt on whether he would
permit that document to be revealed. And those who know him say Mueller, reluctant to speak publicly
even when the circumstances seem to require it, is unlikely to do it on his own.

Barr, who is widely expected to be confirmed this month as attorney general, told lawmakers he couldn't
commit to releasing Mueller's report in full. Neither was he clear on whether he would permit Mueller to
testify to Congress about his work. He said he wanted to be transparent about Mueller's findings, but
offered few details.

"Where judgments are to be made by me, I will make those judgments based solely on the law and department
policy and will let no personal, political or other improper interests influence my decision," Barr said during his
confirmation hearing in January.

Some lawmakers found the answer unsettling. So do I.
