McDonald’s was the first fast food restaurant to arrive to the province of Limon at the beginning of this 2019, and now it is KFC that plans to open a restaurant in the Caribbean in the upcoming months.
McDonalds opened doors December 31st and generated close to 50 direct jobs, “This is the first opportunity of employment for many young people in the area, we are happy to contribute with the economic activation of this province”, said Esteban Sequeira, managing director of Arcos Dorados Costa Rica, franchise in the country, in an interview with La Republica.
KFC, on the other hand, included Limon in their expansion plans for this 2019. The franchise will be opening three new restaurants this year, one in the Caribbean, another in Guachipelin and the third one in Heredia.

“Our objective is to expand little by little to other areas and take the best chicken to all the regions of the country”, stated Isidro Perera, General Manager of KFC Costa Rica.
The location that will open in Limon, will have a “Free Standing” concept which will also offer drive through and kids’ playground.
APM Terminals in Moin, Limon will be officially starting operations at the end of February, and this, along with the plans of the Government to promote the economic reactivation of this province has motivated several companies to venture into investing in this region of the country
