Is turning out to be a complete lie. It did make national news, but seems to be gone like a fart in the wind.

It's a sick world we live in with the proganda being spewed out of the nightly news.

15 years ago before journalism died, he would have been tarred and feathered, now some still consider him a hero...lol.

Anyways.....should he face serious charges for fabricating a racist war? There should be some repercussions if the verdict is heading the way it is.....thoughts?

Did they ever say what race the attackers were? When seeing this a few weeks back the reports on TV never said they were white, which I was sure they would if the case, so I just assumed they weren't

Jussie Smollett Attack: Actor Hands Over Phone Records As Police Reportedly Consider False Report Charges

It has been two weeks since “Empire” star Jussie Smollett alleged he was assaulted by two men who yelled racial and homophobic slurs at him, put a noose around his neck, and then poured an unknown liquid on him.

The 36-year-old actor added that his alleged attackers screamed “this is MAGA country” – suggesting that they were supporters of President Trump and his campaign slogan “make America great again.”

Since the Jan. 29 incident, Chicago police have not been able to identify any legitimate suspects in the case or find any surveillance video capturing the attack on film.
According to multiple reports, Smollett had refused to turn over his phone to officers after telling officers he was speaking with his manager at the time of the ambush.

There were better odds of us all hitting the Powerball on the same day than for his story to have been true. What a moron. Some trump supporters, who were wearing MAGA hats, are really going to be hanging out in downtown Chicago, on one of the coldest days of the past 30 years, outside a Subway at 2am with bleach and a noose waiting for some gay actor from a show most people have never watched. Then they're going to attack you and all you have is a little scratch under your eye, all while waiting 45 minutes to call the police and leaving a rope tied around your neck 45 minutes after the assault. Yeah okay, you'd have to be as braindead as him to believe such a BS story.

Not to mention the hotel he stayed at has 24 hour room service so why even go outside to a Subway and I've heard it mentioned that the Subway closes at 11pm although I'm not certain on that. Next you have his manager who didn't call the police while the attack was occurring even though he claimed to hear his friend being attacked and people yelling about Trump, yeah some great manager. Then the refusal to turn over their phones, well of course they didn't turn over their phones because it will show that call never occurred or it will place him somewhere other than where he said he was at that given time. It sure looks like it was planned by him and his manager to probably get his name in the news to land future acting gigs. Hopefully he serves time over this and his career is ruined.

How is this the media's fault? Someone, I guess famous although I never heard of him, files a police report. So it's up to the media to determine the truth of it? That is the job for the police. Place the blame on the dick who made the thing up, not the media.

How about the fact they are so willing to run with any story where a black or minority person is a victim at the hands of a white person without any research. This isn't the only case. Look at the MAGA kids....Jazmine Barnes......so.and and so on. You could do these stories all day in the reverse. I guess they only like man bites dog stories.

Have the Chicago police said anything since beginning when they said he was cooperating and they had no reason not to believe him. Got to love the me too movement. What a crock of shit not to mention waste of time and money. Zero accountability and that’s ok . Only when it fits their narrative. Wouldn't you think breaking news one day you would follow up with the outcome? Or is it just to smear the accused and gone with the wind when the hopeful story of a racist hate crime turns out to be false.

Your not that naive I would hope. I personally like to make my own decisions and not be told what is right and wrong by the talking heads who spew shit to get people riled up.
