Congressional negotiators announced an "agreement in principle" Monday night on a broad spending
bill they hope will satisfy President Donald Trump's demands for additional border barriers and
avert another government shutdown at the end of this week.

The tentative deal includes $1.375 billion for physical barriers — a type of fencing that resembles
the “steel slats” that Trump has specifically called for, according to a congressional aide briefed
on the talks. It includes a total of 55 miles, which is just 9 miles shy of Trump’s last budget request.

In exchange, Democrats agreed to drop their demand to restrict the number of people who can be detained
by Immigration and Custom Enforcement at a time. Negotiators agreed to fund a total of 40,520 detention
beds for ICE, a roughly 17 percent reduction from current levels.

I know the deal stinks but I think it's best to avert another unpopular shutdown and get Dems on the record as voting for the wall, even if it's ridiculously short of what's needed.

With that Trump will get the camel's nose under the tent. And anything he does incrementally to extend the wall in the future will be a lot more difficult for DEms to fight.

I hate political wins, but "not one dollar" will be smashed by the DEms themselves.

Right. If he wanted 5.6B for the wall, she would have asked for 21.8B and settled for 5.6B.

The White House is firming up plans to redirect unspent federal dollars as a way of funding
President Donald Trump’s border wall without taking the dramatic step of invoking a national
emergency.

Done by executive order, this plan would allow the White House to shift money from different
budgetary accounts without congressional approval, circumventing Democrats who refuse to give
Trump anything like the $5.7 billion he has demanded. Nor would it require a controversial

shift money from two Army Corps of Engineers’ flood control projects in Northern California, as

infrastructure for military bases, according to three sources familiar with the negotiations.

“There are certain sums of money that are available to the president, to any president,” Mulvaney

Not only does Trump get his wall but he sticks it to California and Puerto Rico. How fitting would that be?

The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on a government appropriations bill Thursday
evening and, with a day until the vote, lawmakers still have not received the text of the legislation.

“No one has seen the final wording of a long and complicated bill we will be expected to vote on tomorrow
evening,” Republican Maryland Rep. Andy Harris told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “That’s no way to
run a legislature.”

Republican Study Chairman Mike Johnson also confirmed that “as of lunch on Wednesday, members of the RSC,
and to our knowledge, even members of the conference committee, had not seen the text.”

“It has been reported that [House Majority Leader Steny] Hoyer has said if the bill is dropped today we
will consider it tomorrow. This is reminiscent of the, ‘you must pass it to find out what is in it,’
Obamacare debacle,” Johnson said to TheDCNF. “This bill is expected to be well over 1,000 pages, and we
will potentially have less than 24 hours to digest it. This is absurd.”

Geez quit your bitchin. It would seem to me that this has just made your job a hole lot easier.
Just vote no or better yet refuse to vote at all. When asked why you refuse to vote say it's déjà vu all
over again and you're not going to be a party to it.

I have changed my mind. With the new information coming to light Trump cannot allow this bill
to become law. I hope the Senate takes one for the team and saves Trump from having to veto it.

Trump MUST veto the bill.
It apparently is a 1200 page virtual amnesty nightmare fraught with well hidden details that bit-by-bit will not allow a real wall to be built, will dilute ICE's ability to keep us safe, will allow illegals to exploit minors to get into this country even more easily, will give billions more to foreign countries, etc etc.
This is coming from several sources that have access, though obviously no one can read the 1200 pages released last night at midnight by the bastards...
AND it will be the LAW so once he signs it, it is a DONE deal, game over.
