How can this be? How can they CUT TAXES and COLLECT MORE MONEY?

Because the economy is surging boys, we can only hope that someday liberals will be able to comprehend 5th grade economics

just think if they didn't allow companies like Amazon to slide...they'd really have some money to play with. Amazon in past two years $17B in PROFIT and were given a cumulative $200M TAX REBATE.

this year was $11.5B profit with a $130M rebate

I have mixed feelings about that. On one hand Amazon should have payed taxes.
On the other the Government would have just pissed it away.
I'm thinking it's bettor that Amazon keep it's profits.

Amazon doesn't pay "individual " income taxes my friend, but their employees do.

How many people are not working that should be working but do not want to because we pay their Sec 8 housing, Medicaid, food stamps, free meds (patient assistant programs), fraudulent social security benefits, charity healthcare (hospitals take in a huge # of patients and never get paid, Catholic systems especially), and other massive free programs, etc?

Why work? Add that all up and you'd need a full time job making $20 an hour and have to get up in the morning, be there on time, "work".

THAT is a big part of the problem.

THAT is a big part of the deficit, the debt.

Meanwhile we pay illegals low wages that are not always taxed, and a lot of the $$$ is sent back home and not even spent in the USA. How many? There are an estimated 25 million in the USA, some say 40 million... and so 1/3 of them are probably working age...

I'm guessing from wages and estimated taxes, don't think payments with the returns account for a significant portion of the revenues. It's those every week paychecks that yield the money

I was asking b/c the 2017 tax returns were still under the old tax plan and in 2018, "less" monies were being withheld.

I'm not the biggest fan of our POTUS but I LOVE that our economy is doing great!!

These government "benefits" create false increases in the price of housing (rents) and squeeze the middle and lower class earner.

Create a huge burden for those paying for their own healthcare because they are also subsidising the loafers who get full benefits. They don't even need to worry about deductibles like the working class man.

They also force employers to pay lower rung, unskilled, workers wages that their business models can't support because the business owner is competing, not with other like business owners, but with the benefits (wages for no work) offered by the government.

Heck, they even get to eat better food than budgeted low / middle end wage earners.

It's no wonder that low wage jobs go begging for help. The government is the competition. Big, big problem.

What I’m seeing and hearing is a lot of the illegals are working on fake social security cards . So a legitimate business can get through the loopholes of putting them on the payroll and the government turns a blind eye because no one is collecting the social security that is never going to be payed out. Billion dollar industry. Oh the greed and slush funds will never end . Look up Frederick Bastiat “ the law” early to mid 1850s this guy had free society pegged

I live in LA, CA where you see illegals everywhere. Many of them are working with fake SSNs and will never see the money that's taken out.

Government is making a killing off them. Especially here with the double dip of taxes on everything they buy except food.

No it’s definitely no secret. I own my own business my buddy who is an electrician hires a few of them some are extremely loyal and even one of them went to Illinois to get a drivers license. He had a brother that lived there so by using brothers residence he obtained legal license however not transferable to state of ny. So crazy the loopholes remember when I was a kid drove down from Maine to Long Island worked here for about a year after a few months I was constantly getting pulled over and told I have been here to long and car needs to be registered in this state. They get better treatment then us Americans . I refuse to hire them because they don’t have license can’t have that on my conscious no way but very hard to find a hard working American these days that doesn’t feel the need for entitlement.

The polls sure were right on Obama in 2008 & 2012!... offshore he was a huge favorite. It was clear Obama was a winner, I will never forget, Bill O'Reilly conceded 15 minutes into the 8:00EST slot that Obama would win in a romp.

And Trump was a fortunate fluke, ran against an all time terrible candidate, and he outsmarted her in PA, FL, Ohio, Mich, IA... will not happen again.

My point is that if the Dems win in 2020 (and I think they will unless something very significant develops) the stock market will sink with the understanding that Trump encouraged capitalism, supported business, and the Dems will end the positive pro-business environment that has driven the market to 25,000+.
