This week the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association proudly announced a
limit of just 15 minutes of full contact per week would be allowed on high school
football teams this fall. The state had already banned full-contact work in spring
practice. Touch football right around the corner for 23,000 players who play HS
football in Pussy Jersey.

15 minutes, lol, these kids can’t tackle for shit already now...

This will probably trickle down too, NH, Maine, and numerous states to eventually follow. Sad...

I've been saying it all along Clover, there are outside forces that have been trying to undermine the game of football as we know it for more than 30 years. The feminists have been upset with the game because it is the last sport here in America that is truly a Man's game that women cannot play. Why do you think all the sports net-works,
especially ESPN, use so many women in the peripherals (sideline interviewers, team sideline, and now, even commentators etc), they want to placate them, make them feel like they are involved, when all they offer is a batch of good looks.....most of the time.

If this keeps up (now flag-football) the game will be gone in 20 years (one more generation).

The silliness of this new rule is injuries will explode when playing the games. Players
will not be conditioned for contact and lack of tackling skills will defeat the purpose of
this stupid rule. Not knowing how to tackle and block correctly will increase the chance
of neck injures in particular. Besides injuries, another downside is not being prepared
properly to play college ball. Many kids will not be offered scholarships because of not
being skilled in techniques needed at the next level.

Maybe the NJ Athletic Association should compare the number of injuries in football and
(non-contact) soccer. They might just be surprised!

Not sure if you are aware or not but in youth soccer, kids are not allowed to use their heads to head the ball until a certain age (i want to say either 14 or 16).

Its ridiculous watching little kids play the ball on a high bounce and they cant do squat

It is inevitable that football as we know it will vanish, soon.
The NFL is powerful but the overwhelming evidence is there, going back decades, that the medical advice from MDs was ignored.
Look at the mesothelioma commercials, several Fortune 100 companies knew certain kinds of asbestos was deadly but kept selling it for decades, there is evidence galore, internal memorandum, yes, CEO's knew, medical consultants clearly warned, but it took a long time to get here now victims are being awarded seven figures.
Across the land, parents are not allowing their kids to play football, even Ditka said (on a HBO special) that if he had an 8 year old son he would not let him play.
The lawyers will win.
5 years, 10 years, there will be massive rule changes in NCAA & NFL.

That can't be good for Rutgers, or for the Big 14. Serves 'em right for poaching Maryland from the ACC.
