Colin Kaepernick may become an NFL player again, his attorney told CNN on Saturday night.

Kaepernick — who, along with Eric Reid, reached a settlement with the NFL Friday concerning his collusion grievances against the league — still “absolutely wants to play” in the NFL, according to his attorney Mark Geragos. Geragos also told the network he couldn’t comment on anything regarding the settlement because it includes a confidentiality agreement.

“He wants to compete at the highest level,” Geragos said of Kaepernick. “This is a competitive young man.”

According to ESPN, Geragos said he spoke to Kaepernick on Saturday about his desire to play.

“I think you’re going to see … within the next two weeks that somebody is going to step up and do the right thing, and you want me to predict who?” Geragos told the website. “Besides the Panthers, it would not surprise me if [Patriots owner] Bob Kraft makes a move.”

Out of those two teams, the Panthers are likely a better landing spot for the 31-year-old Kaepernick. Cam Newton, who underwent shoulder surgery in late January, is a question mark. Plus, Kaepernick — who hasn’t been on an NFL team since severing his contract with the 49ers in 2017 — is considered to have many of the similar skill sets as Newton.

Though Kraft is one of the most influential owners in the NFL, Kaepernick becoming a Patriot seems much less likely.

First, Tom Brady — who just won his sixth Super Bowl ring — wants to play until he’s 45. Second, the quarterback known as the GOAT has a friendship with backup signal caller, Brian Hoyer.

Geragos also told CNN that some former Patriots coaches might be interested in Kaepernick, but did not specifically name any other teams.

Former Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia is heading into his second season as the Lions head coach, and Bill OBrien, New England’s ex-offensive coordinator, has been the Texans’ coach since 2014. Brian Flores, who was the Patriots’ defensive coordinator last season, is now the Dolphins’ coach.

In October 2017, the former 49ers quarterback — who became a lightning-rod for his decision to kneel during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial inequality — filed a grievance under the league’s collective bargaining agreement, alleging collusion against signing him to an NFL contract.

As for Reid, he played for the 49ers from 2013 to 2017, signed with the Panthers before the team’s fourth game of the 2018 season and received a three-year deal earlier this week worth more than $22 million.

But there is one league Kaepernick won’t be playing in, and that’s the Alliance of American Football.

Kaepernick wanted $20 million or more to consider playing with the league, according to the Associated Press. Players earn $225,000 over three years in the Alliance. Beginning in May, they are free to pursue NFL careers, but should they not land a job there, they must return to the AAF.

Weird he would mention the Patriots, a team coached by a man that simply won't tolerate his shenanigans

Maybe Mike Tomlin would welcome him, or the moon-unit that coaches Seattle

This guy again. It’s like people try to pretend he was Peyton Manning before he decided he cared about cops arresting black gangbangers.

Its laughable if his attorney thinks the Pats would ever take him.

He will never play in the NFl again! He was not very good to begin with and he knew he was a one trick pony.
Harbaugh made him look very good, when he left for Michigan the NFL caught up to him and he did not work hard to get any better
let alone learn how to read a defense. He saw the writing on the wall, San Francisco was cutting him and his big contract, he knew he would not be getting another contract paying him anywhere near the amount of the San Francisco contract.

I think this whole kneeling in protest thing was just a way for him to get publicity for himself knowing that no team would sign him and he would sue the NFL. Knowing that they would not want to deal with him and pay him to go away ans shut up. Which is exactly what happened. He got more money than if he actually played, because he was not very good to begin with.

He is a phony!!! That much is plain to see. Activist my ass! Signs a big contract with Nike and now this big cash settlement with the NFL
In the last 2 years he has done nothing to advance his protest except collect money for himself... Moving forward he will not advance or help anything
as he is just a liar and racist who used it to his advantage to gain money for himself...

Guy is an empty suit. Just an ignorant person who let his girlfriend run his life and make decisions for him.

I will give him credit that he ran a hell of a scam and made much more money than if he actually played in the NFL...

Yup.

It's a fact he didn't even vote in the last presidential election. Which happened not too long after his whole "crusade" against injustice started.

How does someone who cares so much not go to the polls?

Fraud.

Ok. Let's throw politics and agenda out the window for this discussion. Let's just talk straight fucking X's and O's. You think Tyrod Taylor, Blake fucking Bordles, Nick Mullens, CJ Beathard, Case Keenum, and Blane Gabbert were all better QB's then Colin Kaepernick?

Look i'm not even a Kaepernick fan. But fuck I know talent when I see it. Beathard is fucking a dumpster fire compared to Kapernick. And Blane Gabbert or Case Keenum? Seriously? Those guys are INT fucking machines. At least Kaepernick can read 1/2 the field if that's all he's gonna read. His stride out paces anyone even mentioned to boot. You really think the guy is not able to play or even back up in the league against the aforementioned jokes?

After SF cut him because of his contract situation, he was only interested in signing a QB contract for starter money.

No team was going to do that after his previous two seasons where he really struggled.

Denver offered him back up money and he scoffed at it. If he really wanted to play football, he could have. He chose not to.
