After Len Dawson set the record for most touchdown passes thrown in a single season by the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs (30) way back in 1964, that record stood for 54 years, until Patrick Mahomes broke it in late 2018. Since Mahomes has quite a ways to go to be mentioned in this vein, Dawson gets the nod for the best quarterback in the history of the Chiefs’ franchise, as the only quarterback that has ever taken the Chiefs to the Super Bowl, and the MVP of Super Bowl IV, which is the franchise’s only win in the big game.

Bono had that 1 great year when KC went 13-3 and lasted a few seasons ... as a Chiefs season ticket holder from 1989 -2004 my opinion would be Blackledge was worse ... however the more I think about it Bono was awful in the Chiefs frigid 1995 playoff loss to Jim Harbaugh and the Colts (Lin Elliott missing 3 FG's didn't help of course) ... Mahomes will shatter all of Dawson's QB records if he stays healthy ...
