This photo is from Philadelphia near 26th and Lehigh. A short walk from where stood Shibe Park/Connie Mack Stadium. Not a great neighborhood. When I went to games there with my father in the mid sixties you had to park on street. A kid usually came by and said watch your car for a quarter. My father always paid it. If you didn't your going to end up with a flat tire or your car would get keyed.

Not bad for a quarter. I’ve heard of this practice where bad neighborhoods would protect people’s cars for a fee. Ha ha, any other time they’re busting into it.

A quarter was a lot of money in 1964. That's the equivalent of $2 today.
