I call $12 pre flop comes A95 rainbow. Heads up. He checks, I bet $25 he calls, 7 comes. He checks, I go all in, he calls with AJ, you know how it ends, J on river. I think I played it right. Just a bad beat? It was a brutal beat.

Before that, my pocket AA got cracked by trip 9

A lot of information left out here. How many players, size of the blinds and position is left out. Give it was heads up, If raised pre-flop, than playing Ace rag suited is unwise. You were roughly a 63% dog pre-flop and became a 72% fav post flop. He had six outs on flop and nine on the turn. When you pushed all-in anything less than 30 would have given your opponent pot odds to call, therefore not a bad beat. If you pushed for greater than 30 then you did get unlucky but not that bad in terms of bad beats in that he had you pre-flop. A bad beat in this specific hand imo, would be you holding AK or AQ, being a favourite throughout the hand leaving your opponent with 3 outs throughout the entire hand.
