Costa Rican Authorities Seize Over One Ton of Cocaine in Guanacaste

The work of Costa Rican Public Police Force and the National Coast Guard Service managed to seize 1,065 kilograms of cocaine and detained six people.
The suspects are five Costa Ricans between the ages of 22 and 39, four of them with prior criminal records and a 53-year-old Colombian of last names Guarí Enríquez
In addition to the drugs seized the police also confiscated three vehicles and an “Eduardono” type boat.

Authorities received the alert through the 911 emergency system, first, the vessel was located in the area of Cabuyal Beach in Guanacase, aboard the vessel the police found containers with fuel and the Colombian of last names Guarí Enríquez was arrested; as part of the same operation, two vehicles were intercepted close to the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, both vehicles were loaded with packages of drugs.
Just last Friday, authorities seized 1.2 tons of cocaine in the South Pacific.
2018 was a record year for cocaine seized in Costa Rica, which came to 32 tons and 591 kilograms, totaling over $1 billion USD.
