I avoid drinking it no matter where I go. If I’m out of bottled water the water from the sink isn’t even an option for me.

HELL NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! The water around here causes cancer. The amount of carcinogens is thru the roof. And so are the deaths!
Wish I had a picture of the all the crap I had to pump out of the water htr several months ago and how the the heating element corroded from all the chems.
If it eats away stainless imagine what it does to our inners, Terrifying!

All we drink is SPRING water.(verified source on label)
If there is no source on label then it isn't true spring water. :103631605

or just stick to booze

Supposedly, the water here won “best tasting” and is Top 5 nationally for quality. Who knows, taste fine and works for me...

It’s not conspiracy stuff that concerns me. I just don’t trust the local water filtration plants to get out the contaminates like a water store can. I know every now and then I’ll get a pamphlet in the mail from the water municipality informing me how great the water is and showing the tests they do but despite all that and knowing the extensive underground pipes it has to travel I’d just rather consume it from bottled sources. Was just curious how others felt about the water supply in their area.

You do know that bottled water comes from local water sources right? The same springs, lakes and rivers that supply tap water to homes.

my local supplier wasnt in compliance for years (and probably still isnt) because of high copper and not filing the correct paperwork. i got a letter from them in the mail about it..bitched, moaned, complained..contacted a class action company, the local news, invested time and effort collecting reports and data....at the end of the day nobody seemed to give a shit but me..so i gave up.

Yes. But at the water store they strip it clean with better filtration systems.

A couple additional points...
- The FDAs regulations for bottled water are much weaker than the EPA regulations for tap water.
- Bottled costs exponentially more (but thats not really the discussion here)
- You are ignoring the carcinogens in the plastic bottles
- Filtering isnt always better. There are many important vitamins and minerals in fresh water. There is a reason plants dont do well living off bottled water.

[h=2]What is the evidence?[/h]Some studies have shown that small amounts of chemicals from plastic containers can end up in the food or drinks that are kept inside them. But the levels of these are very low.
In some experiments, plastic bottles are heated to high temperatures for many hours. Even at temperatures as high as 60⁰C, levels of chemicals that move into food are drink are still very low. They are usually far under levels that are considered unsafe.
Studies may also look at the effect of these chemicals on human cells. But they will often expose them to much higher levels than people are exposed to in real life. These levels are also much higher than the limits which are allowed in plastic by law. There is no evidence to show using plastic containers actually causes cancer in humans.
The European Food Safety Authority did a full scientific review of BPA in 2015 and decided there was no health risk to people of any age (including unborn children) at current BPA exposure levels. They are due to update this in 2018.
In the UK there is very strict regulation about plastics and other materials that are used for food or drink. These limits are well below the level which could cause harm in humans.

Bottom line is there is no justification to replace tap water with bottlwd water unless your house or infrastructure has some form of underlying issue. And let's be honest, just because something is sold by a big corporation doesn't necessarily make it safe.(er)

I sure do, as long as it city water and not well water, totally different story if you lived in s
San Diego, but in CT it is fine.
It gets pretty damn expensive to but bottled water really isn't necessary in many areas. It often is just tap water in a bottle anyway. How do even know if it's what they claim it to be anyway ?

Same for organic produce, how can you tell your just not pay 2-3 X the price for the same thing ?

Let’s be honest. Just because something is operated and distributed by a government operated facility doesn’t make it any safer either. But preference is held by the consumer.

The average rxer considers a well balanced diet to consist of beer and 3 different types of pizza and wings
