The Los Angeles Lakers are in a bit of a tailspin. LeBron James is on a minutes restriction, and they’ve got deeper issues than just what’s happened this season.

Meanwhile the roster in LA has been built with the idea of getting multiple superstars this offseason to help James. That’s not exactly a shoo-in either, particularly after trade talks for Anthony Davis fell apart earlier this year.

Los Angeles has been a rumored landing spot for Toronto Raptors free agent Kawhi Leonard, although reports have said Leonard prefers the Clippers in the past. As the year has ground on up north, it seems the Lakers’ chances at signing Leonard have become increasingly dim.

Speaking on Brian Windhorst’s podcast, ESPN writer Michael C. Wright said that what he’s hearing is that Leonard is not interested in the Lakers.
Via ESPN:

“I do not [think he’s interested in the Lakers]. That’s just what I’ve been told. It’s what I’ve been told going back to last summer. I don’t see that as something that’s happening. I think he goes to the Clippers.”

Toronto doesn’t look like the strongest team in the East, and an NBA Finals run was what most thought could keep him with the Raptors. If Leonard decides to change teams this summer, it seems like the rumor continues to be that he won’t be picking to join LeBron on the Lakers.

Magic Johnson... what a dumbass moron. He didn’t even consider what would happen. In his black aids infested mind, he thought he won the lottery. Lebron has chosen him. Lebron is there for non basketball reasons. Let’s see..... a guy that is 36 who has a ton of tread on the tires with a super max deal. Lebron played them. He will continue to decline. If you land Klay, it won’t matter. He is a B+ Star and won’t make a difference in a loaded west.

Jery buss condled a stupid black guy and now the stupid black guy thinks he is a business man. He’s not. He is a moron.

I guarantee the idiot had the “ he chose us” feeling like elway had when he landed Manning. Obvious big difference

only has the job because of his Bs name. He is an idiot and should be treated as such. Nothing wrong with laker fans throwing rocks at him.

Affirmative action gone wrong although I am sure there were white candidates interviewed too

Thank you for your interesting perspective David Duke

He is a moron and always has been. Would rather have David dukes smile over Magic’s “ infectious smile” that the media loves in their attempt to pretend he is a real person.

See this is what happens. Tell the truth and some left nut acts like is hurting me by saying that.

Forbes 400 guys... white people... why?? They are the ones with brains

lebron will eventually be on there and the media will act like it’s Business... nope. It’s not because of business ... it’s because of basketball

Nobody wants to play with this guy.

Exactly.

LeBron is an arrogant-drama-queen-attention-whore, who now thinks he can run everything. The team, the NBA, the NFL, hell, the USA, too.

I am sick of hearing about LeBron on ESPN.
The Lakers are bad and, so, ESPN is feeling so so sorry for LeBron.

I hate to see Walton taking the heat from LeBron, Walton probably will be sacrificed, but other than that, I hope the Lakers death spiral around LeBron continues, and I hope the fans start to realize that LeBron is an ass, and that good players do not want to be on his team and deal with LeBron's crap 24/7.

When your job is to carry water, everything is a bucket. I don't watch that shit, because I have a brain but I'm guessing no one calling out his lack of effort in the last month? Play off mode activated. Through his career, he gets the coach, a white one, fired, then brings in the brother of his choice. Spolestra, being the exception cause Riley told LeBron to go to hell.

I am not a big Stephen A. Smith fan but he put it best on his show saying what his "sources" say. No one wants to play with Lebron as if they win it's because of Lebron. if they lose he will be the first throw all his teammates under the bus. No one wants to be that guy under the front wheel. Makes sense to me.

Biggest mouth in pro sports, he is filthy rich, but I will enjoy watching him screw things up with the Lakers and then his big FAILS when he tries to get into other endeavors.

LeBeeotch might not even be there much longer. No one wants to play with the drama queen.

"As bad as that reality is for such a hyped season and team, it looks like it is just the beginning. That second star that the Lakers so badly need may not be coming before LeBron’s game seriously enters a decline. It has been reported for months neither Jimmy Butler nor Kawhi Leonard want to play with LeBron. Nobody expects Kevin Durant to want to do so after some brutal but honest quotes on what it is like playing with LeBron. It is hard to imagine Kyrie Irving wanting to go back to that environment. And all indications are the Pelicans don’t want to send Anthony Davis to the Lakers in exchange for what the Lakers can offer. This likely leaves the Lakers only shot of adding a superstar for LeBron being in the summer of 2021 when Davis becomes a free agent. Mark me down as a “no” that he picks them by then. It would be foolish to assume he would given the drama surrounding this team and Davis’ other options like the Celtics, Clippers, and Knicks.
And even in the best case scenario, Davis becomes LeBron’s teammate in 2021, is not that great, either. It would come as LeBron is months ways from becoming 36 years old. Oh, and Davis and LeBron together now would not even make this team a championship contender. All this adds up to the combination of the Lakers and LeBron easily looking like the biggest disappointment of the decade. Oh, and there is still all the detrimental nonsense LeBron creates each and every time he talks about his teammates or tries getting a coach fired."

Lebron is 34? Plays to almost the finals every year, Olympic teams through out his career, dude is in LA now, I don't think basketball is his main focus anymore. Probably getting burned out. Especially when you are carry crap teams for so long. Maybe a few decent years left then he retires? I don't think he stays in the NBA until 40....

Ok it’s official. Lebron is done at 3 titles. Never will win another one again.
