Analysis:
HC Ritchie McKay can flat out coach....this Liberty team is no Cinderella Joke! This team can take out Va. Tech who nearly let the inept shooting Billikens get back in Game One. Liberty shot nearly 50% from downtown in 4-point win over Mississippi State the other night.
Big Man Scottie James struggled from the floor while Caleb Homesley had a career high 30 points and led all scorers. Lovell Cabill Jr. had a nice night with 18 points and 5 assists. Look for James to be much more productive tonight and take pressure off the two shooters. The Flames are on fire...they had two wins over Lipscomb after getting blown out by the Bisons ( yes with an "S" at the end ) at home.
If Liberty is in this game by halftime....down 4 or less...they have a great shot to win straight up. James needs to score in this one and I think he will.
HC Buzz Williams has a good squad and with Justin Robinson make in the line-up there is a major advantage for the Hokies......but don't tell that to Liberty. They feel like they are destined to Sweet 16!

If James has at 14 points and 6 rebounds I think Liberty wins it by 7-ish!

We have a Virginia Tech team that is in my top 10 and they are now at full-strength a with the return off Justin Robinson. Robinson is a FOUR-YEAR starting PG who returned versus St Louis after missing 12 games and played great getting his feet wet with 28 minutes played. VT has 8 losses this season and all 8 came against teams with top 26 defenses with 5 coming without the services of their PG. Liberty played the #247 schedule and DI NOT face a D that was ranked in the top 45. Even Miss St who they upset was only #63 while the Hokies are #20. VT is also the best offense Liberty has played this season. VT is 5-0 ATS this season in a neutral setting as HF of 6.5 to 12 points and their D has held their last 3 foes to 36.5%, 38.6% and 33.9 % shooting (St Louis, Florida St & Miami).
