Warning: Contests organized by third-party forum users are not endorsed in any way by The RX. Play at your own risk.

To participate in free cash contest prizes which are sanctioned and managed by the RX website, check the main forum.

Policy last updated 24 March 2019:

1. RX Forum members may at their own discretion participate in peer-to-peer member contests with the explicit understanding that there is a chance a fellow poster or posters will not honor prizing - the RX will not be involved in any mediation whatsoever. The RX is not liable or responsible for member promoted contests that occur entirely between members.

2. RX Forum members who have not been members prior to this announcement are unable to personally organize contests where they solicit other members for engaging in transactions with them.

3. RX Forum website staff and members of their family may not personally collect, hold, or distribute funds from members for the purpose of online contests or for any other forum based activity.

This thread will remain pinned atop the forum as a warning to members that non-RX sanctioned contests are not endorsed in any way by the RX.

Well this totally sucks.

Do you want us to find another forum to run our little contests?

This makes no sense. So many people come here to play in the contests. Thats the whole reason I started at this forum in the first place, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Contests are a great way for people to interact with each other and brings people together. Why would you want to take that away?

Monthly contests, side contests throughout each sports seasons....why take away such a big part of the forum? It's not a risk to RX, everyone clearly knows that they are taking a chance when playing these contests because we have seen the messages saying it's at our own risk sending money to people. Thats why those of us that play contest do it with people we trust and people that have been running them for years.

I for one am very disappointed in this decision

end of a great era in forum-land RX started it all sad to see this change after more than 20 years of mostly positive results.
other places or methods hard to say
thegamblingforum tgf might allow a subforum for contests and communication they allow that for some other things. covers no chance, madjacks allows some of this stuff for post up contests.

sbr same owner as here and they do not and never have allowed so this above does really make sense.
sbr is an amazingly good place for forum life but some policies they need to have.

sad day however

Again, cash contests will continue, but they will be run by staff and not require members to pony up anything.

Thats not what people want or come here for. These contests that everyone plays, especially the monthly contest, squares, survivor contest, fantasy sports. Those are major things that people come to this forum to be a part of. And they have been very successful for many years with very few issues. You're taking away a major part of this forum that draws alot of people here. If everyone knows it's at their own risk then why take away something so popular?

It seems a bit too Draconian to prohibit what posters arrange with each other even using your platform via PM. The P means personal after all, whatever posters do amougst themselves is between those individuals a ND the RX is no liable if something goes bad, stiffing or whatever ,in no way did RX endorse, authorize, encourage or anything of the sort and is absolutely absooved of any responsibility for whatever may transpire between posters done privately. I will concur on the point of keeping private bets off of your platform entirely even in PM's. It can be done between posters via email, text, an actual phone call etc.

Now how the Hell does RX even know what info posters exchange in a PRIVATE message ? Only answer is big brother RX reads your messages, so there is nothing private about it, in actuality, eh ?

Effective 24 March 2019, The RX Forum message-board may not be used to promote deposit based contests or cash transactions between members of any kind. The Private Message (PM) system may also not be used to solicit or engage in financial transactions between posters related to contests or any other forum activity.

All contests published prior to 24 March 2019 will be allowed to run their course. The RX Forum does not endorse or stand for any of these contests.

Moving forward, The RX Forum administration will make available no risk based giveaway contests for members to enjoy each month.

RX Staff

Wow!! Quickly turn this into a joke.. I would bet you $1,000 more than a third of the traffic is due to the contests..

Curious as to the reasoning behind this. I appreciate the current contests being allowed to finish before this is implemented, but like it was mentioned before, the contests are a HUGE part of this forum. Is there a legal team advising this? Is this taking away from aspects that new ownership isn’t approving of? Just doesn’t make sense imo but who am I?...just a small timer that found this nice little get away from home life back in 2008.

We've chewed on this a bit and are making some amendments.

The highlights:

All of the above is subject to change. This thread will remain pinned atop the forum as a warning to members that non-RX sanctioned contests are not endorsed in any way by the RX. To participate in free cash contest prizes, check the main forum.

The initial decision came because even though TheRx/SBR made it very clear in the past that they would not be responsible if something went wrong, there were some who still insisted the site should be held accountable.

With that being said, management has listened and understands how much some posters enjoy these contests, and has decided to allow them to continue under the stipulations listed.

Bottom line is if you still believe that TheRx/SBR should 'Make It Right' should complications or controversy arise with any future contests not endorsed by the site, then you should refrain from participating.

I'm still a little confused (6th grade education). If a member wanted to sponsor or continue
the annual CFB and NFL Contest, he or she could with the "understanding" the theRX is not
responsible (liable) for any results of the contest? Thanks.

Stay tuned - the RX will be offering official, large pot contests during NFL/NCAAF season with the same picking format you guys are used to. There's no reason to do it all yourselves - the only difference is you won't have to part with your own funds for a chance at a great prize.

If you are dead set on sending funds to another poster and not participating in no risk contests that are officially sponsored, you'd do so at your own risk.

Thanks Hache...I was unaware of any incidents, probably because I don't often check back if I'm eliminated lol.

But their post (#13) seems fair and makes sense as that has been the way it's been since I can remember. Members by now should know the others who are reputable enough to trust with running these.

Thanks guys (RX/SBR) I'm sure the majority here will appreciate the decision made.

Chop, we can still do our thing

The biggest problem I see here is that no member of the forum management team can be treasurer, that means BAS can't be treasurer for the big football contests

I think JOH can still run them, even be treasurer

As for stuff like our league or private contests run by people like me or HC who are not involved with theRx, it appears that's still a go

$ 500 two strike survivor contest will begin accepting applicants in like two months :)
