An 18-year White House employee told congressional investigators that she and other career staffers denied security clearances for 25 Trump administration officials, including three "very senior" officials, only to see most of those recommendations overturned.

The employee, Tricia Newbold, was interviewed by staff of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform. Democrats on the panel released a summary of her interview, conducted over the weekend, raising new questions about how and why the White House issued security clearances to, among others, Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law.

Old story with renewed Congressional oversight.

A Congress that has the power to subpoena.

The GOP tried that shit for years with Obama and Clinton, they could never get anything to stick. I wish they'd have nailed that bitch when they had the chance. That's sweaty Trey Gowdey for you. Really, what level of questioning did you think you were going to get from a guy who looks like this:

I suppose this guy is your idea of 'superior genetics' too

I guess we'll see how the dems do at making charges stick and actually getting someone locked up.

I don’t know that it’s an impeachable offense, but at the least Kushner and Ivanka should lose their clearance.

What’s left of our national secrets are at stake. I’m not talking nuclear secrets because we’re already handling that over to the Saudis.

They won't.

You insisting they are doing something with "national secrets" is funny as hell.

You're so ignorant it is cartoonish.

I will never, ever, again respond on a thread with this person, he is just trolling against Patriots, those of us opposing the globalist movement to tear us apart and put us together again... make us California, then Venezuela.

You trumptards get all worked up when its classified national secrets on Hillary Clintons private email server, but when an unelected son-in-law of the president plays fast and loose with national secrets (obtained because Don the Con overrode Kush' denied security clearance) The reaction is 'its funny as hell'.

You're so brainwashed that I pity you and those that have to put up with you in real life. They probably roll their eyes every time you start talking politics.

A 30 second Google search, and look what I find. An article written before Trump became POTUS but within 10 days after the election. Apparently, the fucking idiots were already pretending they had something

Their peabrained pawns are very reliable minions, they just can't resist the fish bait

Security Clearances and Presidential Authority

Posted on Nov.18, 2016 in Security Clearances by Steven Aftergood
“Security clearances are not mandated for the President, Vice President, Members of Congress, Supreme Court Justices, or other constitutional officers,” a recent Congressional Research Service report explains. “The criteria for election or appointment to these positions are specified in the U.S. Constitution, and except by constitutional amendment, no additional criteria (e.g., holding a security clearance) may be required.”
In fact, the security clearance system itself is an expression of presidential authority. Its scope and operation are defined in an executive order (EO 12968), and its terms can be modified by the President at will.
And if the President wished to grant access to classified information to a family member, for example, there would be no legal barrier to doing so. See “Trump Will Have Wide Latitude to Let Family Into Government’s Secret Circles” by Mark Landler, New York Times, November 16.

Here's something recently published by NPR, arguably the biggest liberal tools in the country

Does Trump have the power to overrule them?

Yes. It is an executive branch function, and as chief executive the president has the ultimate authority.
Not only did President Trump have authority to give his son in law and adviser Kushner clearance, the president "could conceivably give Vladimir Putin a security clearance," says Mark Zaid, a Washington attorney who specializes in national security cases.
He said the president can furthermore declassify "the family jewels" — meaning secret documents — "and give them to Putin," if he wanted to.

Once again, no crime committed, nothing for congressional oversight to investigate, just normal activity and this all proves the whistle blower is nothing more than a partisan hack
