I would have asked closer to $12K for it, as Tech is listed at 4-1

According to updated national championship odds from Westgate, the Cavaliers, who opened the season at 15-1 odds, are now 3-2 to win. Just behind them is Michigan State on the opposite side of the bracket with odds at 7-4. No. 3 seed Texas Tech has the third-best odds at 4-1 followed by Auburn at 7-1.

8750 is what you would expect

right now the "not texas tech" betting option is -500 so you would need to be nearly 44k to win 8500 (less your 250 original stake) while tt winning would net you just over 6k. unless you can find a -400 shop out there where you could "up" your guaranteed take to just at 10k.

but 8750 is a good buy back given current prices and with mich state a -150 game fav that kills the ability to middle the thing especially with bigger fav, UVA, potentially on deck

i personally would not have sold it but can understand taking the 9k

Understand that but it was 50/1 everywhere in Vegas the week leading up to the tourney
This article is saying that they were shorter odds than T Tech? With that draw?

If you wouldn't hedge then you're basically saying you would bet TT for 9 grand.

If you didn't have that ticket, would you bet TT for 9 grand?

Unless you just look at it as "house money" but 9k is likely a good amount more than most peoples normal bet.

Tough call bc I agree and think they are playing the best of anyone left. But it's such a wide open final4. They would be a small dog vs UVA and a small favorite vs Auburn. Having thought about it maybe sell to lock in a nice profit and then take some money and make some bets on them +2.5 or 3 whatever it is. Then take them on the ML and if they win roll that into the final game on the ML as well.

For $50,000, I would hedge. But only at the best odds available, definitely not for this price. And I would bet $9,000 (or more) on Texas Tech at +575. Then just bet the other sides and have a profit before the Final Four games are even played.

What would you do exactly (or roughly)
