The orioles were predicted to be the worst team in baseball too yet they have a winning record.

once the weather warms, the cream always rises to the top.

Thays why it’s comical when the Yankees are such high chalk on opening day. I remembered they had an opening series with the rays in prior years and same thing happened as this year.

in September Yankees and Red Sox will be fighting it out

blue jays have hurt me so far this season.

Sale had a horrible first start but pitched well last night giving up 1 run in 6 innings. They lost 1-0 and had 7 hits to the A's 3. It's early, will begin worrying in May if it continues.

The concern over Chris Sale: Former closer Brad Lidge, now a co-host on MLB Network Radio’s “Inside Pitch,” had some thoughts on the velocity drop experienced by Chris Sale so far this season. The Red Sox ace, who normally throws in the mid to upper 90s, averaged 89 m.p.h. in his latest start.

“In terms of performance, I think Chris Sale can pitch at 90-92, and you said he was even at 89 a lot,” said Lidge to his co-host. “I think he can still pitch there and be effective, but he can’t be Chris Sale as we’ve come to know and love him, the dominant pitcher who’s going to punch out 14 guys if he’s got stuff going right. He can’t be that guy pitching at that velocity, so you have to be concerned because he just signed that big extension.”

Sale recently penned a five-year, $145 million contract extension. So far in 2019, Sale is 0-2 with an 8.00 ERA.

“You have to be concerned about where he’s going to be for the rest of this year and then moving forward,” Lidge said. “The velocity came down a little bit last year, and obviously he’s not where he should be right now.”

Lidge is suspicious of the idea that Sale is simply conserving himself in the early part of the season.

“If you’re feeling good, you’re going to let it go. I’ve never heard of a pitcher who is just all of a sudden like, ‘I’m feeling great, but I’m holding everything back until the second half.’ I’ve never heard of that in my life.”

ed Sox pitching coach Dana LeVangie recently told reporters that Sale isn’t conserving himelf, but is instead building as the season goes along to improve his durability.

“You guys want him to pitch the whole year, or do you want him to go out and throw 100 right now and not be there for his team? He’s building,” LeVangie explained.

I'd be shocked if they finished any worse than 2nd place and a wild card. If anybody is in trouble it's the Yankees

Red Sox are on a brutal 1st 2 week road trip to start the season, Price looked average the other night, his fastball had no minimal movement hitting 90-92

Their lineup early is struggling to manufacture runs. I rarely take futures way ahead of time but I took a flyer on Tbay to win the pennant and WS near the start of the season as I like their pitching and think they have a decent shot at the Wild Card and hope to hedge late in the season. Hopefully they are able to stay healthy

Tampa is not a bad choice ! Very tough division with 3 strong teams, and Toronto not a contender, and Baltimore sure to finish with one of worst records in the game. One of the wildcards should come out of the AL East, for sure, could certainly be TB, if one of NYY and Bosox fade away, if Yankees were to lose Judge and or Tanaka for the season they might be an 80 win team. Tampa could even win the division.

What were the odds on them ?

I got 20-1 for the AL Pennant and 38.5 -1 on the WS, more weighted on the AL Pennant .... different places still have 15-16 to 1 for the pennant which I think is still decent

We're there odds offered to win the division ?

I think they won somewhere around 90 games last season ?, So to even make the playoffs they have to finish at least second place is necessary, so if second is plausible then first must also doable ?

They have played in two tough hitting ballparks.

I'd like to see what they do once they get back to the little league park before making any assumptions.

I didn't follow those odds but I see you can get 12-1 on them now for that Doug

I'm sure things will change quickly once they are back or catch their groove
