I think the mob gets a bad rap. They police the neighbourhoods they control for a small stipend.
No need to lock your doors, no one in their right mind would dare rob you. Businesses flerish in
a crime free environment. The garbadgemen never strike. Disputes are handled without an anoying
court appearence and no need to hire a pricy attorney. Not a bad way to run a railroad.

Hoffa is a damn good movie, I have watched it several times over the years, it is probably pretty close to the truth for a Hollywood movie. The mob, these days, does not control the neighborhoods as well as the old days, but they are still safer than most.
Construction union members are not nearly as enamored with the Dem party as they were decades ago... sure the top supports the Dems but IMO the members are not following.
