Costa Rican Police Continue Operations to Battle Drug Trafficking

The Costa Rican authorities continue with operations to battle drug trafficking particularly in the Central Pacific, where they have already intercepted several vessels loaded with drugs.
During a road control operation in the area of Quepos on Route 34, two drivers disobeyed the orders of the police officers to stop the cars, the officers immediately coordinated with the police stations of Parrita and Garabito; the authorities found one of the cars abandoned in the area of Paquita de Quepos, this one was carrying 271 packages of cocaine; while in Garabito the officers were finally able to intercept the second vehicle, after the revision by members of the Drug Control Police, they confirmed it was transporting a total of 411 packets of cocaine.

The driver of the vehicle is of last name Salcedo, a native of Colombia.
This Friday, April 5 the Public Police Force also found seven bags containing drugs abandoned in Conventillos Beach, in La Cruz, Guanacaste; the Drug Control Police confirmed a total of 193 kilograms of cocaine.
