Seattle F5 (-105) The Mariners BP could blow this, so the First 5 bet looks better. Fillmyer has been getting hit hard both in the Spring and in his recent minor stint. Poor command. The M's pitcher, Kikuchi, has a deceptive delivery, an array of good off-speed stuff, and the Royals have never faced him before. Mariners remain hot at the plate, especially early in games.

Starting to notice that some clubs are already short on serviceable starting pitching. Maybe they are rebuilding, maybe they have injuries, maybe they are tanking…either way, guys like Shelby Miller, Ervin Santana, Fillmyer and today's Oriole starter, Dan Straily, are at this point good "go against" options. The O's started the season 4-1, and have lost 5 out of 6 since, all 5 losses vs. the RL. They have a few hot hitters, but little help in the BP. The A's starter, Montas, has a new splitter for a 3rd pitch and has looked great so far in spring and the season. A's have a strong BP so play:

Oakland RL (-125) Straily has been an innings eater for the past few years, but also has given up more HRs than any other MLB pitcher since 2016(about 85). A nibbler whose command right now might be off.
