Still waiting on the Giants final. 1-1 so far.
A bit wary of tomorrow's card, but I'm all in. Can't resist, but maybe you should.
Tampa ML (-179)
Tampa RL (-105) Blake Snell just might be the best starting pitcher in baseball. He's got 4 plus pitches, and his command is very good. The Rays late inning bullpen has been strong though some middle relievers have been awful. I expect Snell to pitch deep into this game. Clay Buchholz goes for Toronto coming off a late spring, a 4 homer game in his minor league rehab start, and Jays BP that is overworked. Buchholz had a remarkable short season for Arizona last year, but he should struggle here his first game out vs. a hot hitting Rays team. I look at this Jays lineup and don't see much there.
Houston ML (-174)
Houston RL (-113) Yes, the Mariners have been hot, but part of that is the poor pitching they've faced. They caught the Red Sox pitching in a funk, then faced KC and CWS pitching that is pretty thin. The Astros are heating up(hitting about .350 this past week), and I really like the matchup Saturday. King Felix has been one of my favorites, but he is a shell of his former self. He is starting only because of the team's deep respect for all he has done. He will compete, but he just can't get enough plus pitches to hang in there. Couple that with a M's bullpen that is shaky, Verlander and a strong Astro BP, and I can't NOT bet this one. The Astros have been the nemesis of the Mariners going back the last 3-4 years, and even when Felix was "on", they hit him fairly well. Verlander has been solid but not spectacular, although reports have said his stuff has been good as usual.
