I am a big believer in tipping, its part of my profession.. bubut now that No Drinks are given 4 free anymore... i swear it seems the ticket writers have become bigger dix.. lolol
Im sure some of that is the anger of customers getting screwd on 1 more thing?? But those coksukkers should greet Everyone with a smile and good luck no matter what.. lol
Anyway, What reason is there to tip a ticket writer?? Esp. If they have a shty attitude!

Never thought to tip the ticket writer. Are you talking about books in LV? The descriptions should like the former Cantor (now CG Tech) who have universally rude clerks. They got kicked out of the M, starting May1, and as soon as the contract is up they will be out at the Palms too.

While I'm a small bettor generally, have made 2 bets for $1,000. Each time it came up "transaction requires approval". This seems to be a joke, but you get a funny look. I won one and lost one of these plays.

I usually tip a couple bucks when I make my bets. And that’s usually good for a few extra drink tickets.

Gotta know how to work the system.

I’ve come across a few rude writers at Red Rock. Since I got the betting app I don’t see them as much anymore. As far as tipping goes it depended on my mood.

Are you at a Cantor book? They suck.

Tipping works well for tickets at Caesars and Stations books in my experiences.

I was at Baileys couple weeks ago. Will never go there again , it was few days before final 4. Book was dead. They turn off all tvs at 8:30. No big deal. Individual tvs has all games. But last night kicked me out when games still on i bet. I tipped ticket guys right away $10 right away. Few $5 after . They give more drink tickets. If you wanted beer domestic $7.50, Import 9.50. WTF rather tip ticket guys. One girl took my tip & hit parlay with $5 i gave her.

i never thought to tip them but i suppose its good karma.
overall its not really much of a service they are providing. they arent coming to you and making it more convenient and they arent giving recommendations so im not really sure what the tip is for. if your getting bad service then definitely not but its no different than a drive through restaurant to me where its simply taking an order and not providing much of a service.
kudos to those who do but i dont think its necessary and shouldnt be expected.

I tip the ticket writers cause you never know when your going to need to ask for something,or have them do for you.I have asked them for several things when i'm in Vegas. When gaming today is hard to get,and i would have missed the day they come out,i have had the gaming today given to the sportsbook people in a manila envelope to save for me and it is always honored....Also i ask them a lot of the time if they would give me a print out of all the lines i may want and what sports i want and i have no issues. There are a few more things they have done for me,so i have no problem tipping them,...i remember there was a thread here asking if people tip a to go order,or a pizza pickup order and i think a lot of people said yes, well all they are doing is handing you a box of pizza and taking your money to pay for it,..now i have no idea why anyone would tip for that,..anyway i'm done babbling here so i'll stop here

Life time losing bettor should never tip a ticket writer or at the poker table. Casinos/book should tip % of their rake/juice instead.

A lot of comments are quite disturbing here. Based on some of the comments, I guess as it was mentioned you don't tip the food delivery person. You likely don't tip for valet or at the restaurant either.

Tipping is a true lost art and gamblers get a bad rap for not tipping well or at all. I can see why.

I do tip and even if it is bad service I tip, it may be nowhere near what it would be if they were nice but I tip indeed.

You win $1,000 what's a $10 tip in their tip basket? They did a service for you after all. You may not look at it that way but ask the on duty supervisor how far it goes with staff. Don't ask the writer, they will tell you what it means to them.

You do tip the taxi driver right?

What about that comped limo? Comped dinner? Comped rooms? Poor guys and gals likely get stiffed by most of you.

The maids who do my room are well taken care of with tips.

Tip and smile, it means a world of good to the receiver.

Do you tip the cashier at the grocery store? If not, why not?

They do more work for you than a ticket writer punching in a couple of numbers. But if a ticket writer wants to take care of me by giving me a few extra drink tickets? I'll take care of him/her.

I love tipping people in the service industry or to people who take care of me. If they actually do some work to earn it. I will always tip a waiter at least 20%. But good service will get around 30%. Take care of those who take care of you.

The lady at the DMV does more for you than a ticket writer and I don’t tip them haha.

I begrugingly tip 20% everytime and I absolutely hate it. Tipp;ing should just end and go away. If you have been greatly taken care of then tip on your own as an extra to the normal wage that person makes.

I often eat at the same restaurants and get crap service from time to time just because a 22 year old doesnt give a shit. Lets say I am in a dick mood and just don't tip. Now I come in there again. Ther service will be awkward and even worse than last time plus you always have to worry about them fucking with your food.

These places that you are basically required to tip are multi million dollar enterprises. Most restaurants, hotels, pizza chains, etc. Stop passing their salary onto the consumer. As you see, tipping never ends. Uber wants a tip too. In some cases a server will do nothing more than bring me a water as someone else brings the food. I am supposed to give her 3-4 bucks for putting tap water in a glass? How about at a bar. "Umm I will get a bud light bottle" Server picks a bottle up and twists the cap off" I feel obligated to give her a 1-2 bucks for that. Geeze

If I were going to do a high school kind of job, I would deliver pizzas because you get the normal hourly rate plus tips and don't have to actually be in the restaurant

lol,, Desert devil pretty much dismantles your arguement,, However to your point,, You are KINDOF conflating SERVICES,, and thats really my point,,

taxi drives you "safely" and talks a bit usually, and can help direct you with advice for 15-30 mins!!!
tik writers have u for 1 min or less

comped room, that maid works for 20+ mins on YOUR ROOM,,, cleaning up after YOUR DIRTY SELF,,
tik writers spend less than 1 min Angry because you didnt say RISK/WIN,,

Food delivery person has to have some skill and sharp eyes, to find our house on a poorly lit street??? OR RAIN!!!,, lol
tik writers show up clock in (SIT ON THEIR ASS) and mumble for less than 60 seconds and almost always NEVER SAY GOOD LUCK,,

Boom,, Mic Drop,,
