Frankly, it's primarily overpriced junk not really negoitable on prices, but it can be done on something large like a piece of furniture that takes up a lot of floor space, they especially want big items gone as they are overstocked with junk, so can ask to see the $12.75 / hour store manager and say that used whatever is priced high at $75, I give you $45 for it right now, final offer, you'll often get it, they do get their stuff free after all !

And BTW, much of the stuff there comes from the estates of dead people..
The stuff the heirs couldn't sell.

I was only a 100 hour employee doing community service time, I did that 100 hours in just about 2 weeks, that was perfect for me a 6 minute walk to get there, open 7-10, knock off the hours whenever you want, easy work, just have a good attitude !
I learned a lot about how they operate in that time ! If you ever are sentenced to c/s time , this is the place to do it

Time to break this into two posts !

My brother worked at one in college and they would literally get shitty diapers and shitty underwear. He was amazed at people that thought it was ok to bring that stuff.

But they also got stuff like working tv's, Xbox's, CD's etc then they would put like $2.00 on a Xbox and buy it from a coworker that would ring them up. So while a shitty job, still got some good stuff for cheap.

The ones I have been into long ago, had rack and racks of clothing, with very little other stuff for sale. I once donated an old computer and printer back when i could itemize deductions with a mortgage. Long gone are the good old days for me.

Greatest place to your time, a buddy of mine had to vacuum McCarran, when I was a Vegan !

They take it really easy on you , often you get the task of putting the fresh junk on the shelves when it comes out the doors from the backroom , it's hard to find places to put the junk on the shelves in the first place, when the junk junkies see that coming, open a few totes and try to find a place to stuff the new crap, just take an a 20 minute dump and play with the phone awhile until the feeding frenzy is over ! Nobody likes the stocking job when there is already no freaking place to put the Shit !

It wasn't unusual for me to pull 10-11 hour days to knock the hours off. After some hours sorting shoes which is boring as hell, but I did find a wallet amougst the shoes, with $40 in it, that's mine now, thancontinued later, there is a lot more

One problem with that, employees or even those semi- employees doing CS time are prohibated from buying anything there.

There could be a gem to be found there if you had specialized knowledge in a particular area like perhaps rare books or something like that.

Doug. Did you recently do the community service?

Why did you take such a long break here then reappear?
