Oaklawn 04-25-2019
Last post wasn't good .... 6/10 winners but almost all of our picks went off favored and we only picked 4 morning line favorites.
Our 2 first time starter picks both went off heavily favored and both finished well off the board, intentionally. So on a positive note, both of those horses are worth tabbing for next out if they can sneak past the wise guys. Especially the Asmussen fiddler.
race #1 - 8.5f
#5 9-5 LOOKIN AT BLESSING - pick to click, Diodoro claim
#7 6-1 YANKTON
#2 4-1 COUCH TRAINER
race #2 - 8.5f
#1A 8-1 LATE ACT JONES - second time out
#5 9-5 SUSPICIOUS EYES - tipped their hand in last at 20-1
#6 6-1 TOO HAMAZING
race #3 - 6f
... very tough race
#2 2-1 SMART SPREE
#3 4-1 CHANNEL WON
#4 12-1 DOS CUERNOS
race #4 - 8f
#7 4-1 MIZZ FABULOUS
#6 5-1 FABULOUS GIRL
#1 2-1 CASH REGISTER
race #5 - 8.5f
#6 9-2 ONE KING'S MAN
#4 6-1 GOSPEL ABE
#8 5-2 TONBO
race #6 - 6f
#1 9-2 COWBOY CREED
#4 5-2 GLORY STARS
#3 2-1 SUMMER REVOLUTION
#7 10-1 HILTON MAGIC - exotic booster
race #7 - 8.5f
#4 3-1 RUN TAPPY
#2 4-1 SABRENA'S BLING
#6 9-5 DOWNTOWNER
race #8 - 6f
#7 7-5 PRINCIPE GUILHERME
#1 8-1 ADIOS MUCHACHO
#2 15-1 POWERFUL ALLY
race #9 - 8f
#2 2-1 PRAETORIAN - his race to lose
#12 10-1 KNOWYOUROPTIONS
#8 10-1 INVASOR GOLD
#10 9-2 KENTUCKY DAN - riddle me this ... what do you get when you breed a Grade1 winning sire (Midnight Lute) with a Grade1 winning dam (Silverbulletday), both of which were trained by Baffert? Answer: Maiden Claimer, for sure. Why? ... because the on-track brilliance was not in the genes.
FYI, definitions:
"pick to click" - most likely (aka best bet)
"bomb alert" - very possible, don't ignore if big price
"exotic booster" - use underneath only
"fiddler" - don't expect top effort if low price
My wagers are exacta keybox top pick, plus straight win bet on top pick.
Good luck to all!
