San Jose, Apr 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla expressed Monday Cuba''s willingness to continue expanding and strengthening ties with Costa Rica, which -he stressed- are historic and have enormous potential.
In statements to the press, after being received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Costa Rica, Manuel Ventura, at Casa Amarilla, headquarters of the Foreign Ministry, Rodriguez Parrilla underscored 'a greeting to the dear Costa Rican people and all the will to continue broadening and strengthening bilateral ties, which are historical and have enormous potential. '

At the start of his second day of a three-day official visit to this Central American nation, the Foreign Ministers of both countries hold a private meeting of about 40 minutes at this time and then head their delegations in the official talks.

In a press release from the Costa Rican Foreign Ministry, Ventura pointed out that 'the visit (by Rodriguez Parrilla) is an opportunity to strengthen ties between Costa Rica and Cuba in the different areas of political dialogue, cooperation and economic and cultural exchanges'.

It specifies that Ventura will receive Rodriguez Parrilla in his office at Casa Amarilla, headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, in this capital, where they will have a private audience.

At the conclusion of this private meeting, 'they will begin a bilateral meeting with the delegations (of both countries) in the Blue Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship', says the Costa Rican Foreign Ministry.

Rodriguez Parrilla's official visit, which will last until tomorrow, is the first in the bilateral field of a Cuba's Minister of Foreign Affairs, after the restoration of diplomatic relations between San Jose and Havana, on March 18, 2009, highlighted the statement.

This Sunday, on the first day of the official visit, the head of Cuban diplomacy was received on arrival at Juan Santamaria International Airport, by the Protocol and Ceremonial Director of the State, Istvan Alfaro, and the Ambassador of Cuba in Costa Rica, Danilo Sanchez.

Shortly after, Rodriguez Parrilla moved to the National Park of this capital, where he paid homage to the Cuban National Hero, Jose Marti, by placing a floral offering before the bust of the most universal of Cubans.

From there, Rodriguez Parrilla met separately at the Cuban embassy in San Jose with members of popular Costa Rican organizations in solidarity with the Cuban Revolution and with Cubans living in this Central American nation.
