Are the Yankees just doomed this year by injuries ?

So many key players on the DL. As soon as they get a guy back, another one goes down !

Right now Sanchez is the most key guy, can't afford to lose him ! , Losing Luke Voit would suck pretty bad as well, big dropoff in going to their backups, in particular Sanchez, they could fill 1B a lot easier !

You don't want to lose Gaybar Torres either. So many replacement players on the MLB team now, it's ridiculous !

It just ain't their year, we will get back a guy like Frazier, then 24 hours later lose a Sanchez, Voit, Torres type !

I see them finishing 3rd

Something like...

TB 100 wins
Boston 94 wins
Yanks 88 wins

They have a team that’s prob. Equivalent or less than Scranton. Besides Sanchez and Voit they have zero power hitters. Gardner and Torres come up with nice base hits but that’s about it for now. They are doin what they’re supposed to do , tread water. Once mid to late June swings around (see what I did there?)they will more than likely take the division. Only issue is like you said every time a player comes back they lose another

Yes I’ve been lurking around here a long time. I only post occasionally because of all the bs that people get into around here. And it’s all petty. I’ve seen hundreds of great people who knew how to bet get turned on like piranhas then get turned off and leave. OUR LOSS. I pop in and out but I wanna wish you a great season and tons of cash. Have a great day

It is pretty amazing how they have somehow gotten to 19-14 ! Today some guy I never heard of playing LF , named Mike Tauchman....a guy that couldn't bat his weight in Colorado, is the star hitter, the SP , German is sort of their new ace, some very good pickups for reasonable or even dirt cheap money like Voit, that Urshela guy, Dj what's his name ? This can't last forever, can it ?

Some kudos due for Cashman to acquire these backup guys that certainly suffice short term better than ever could be hoped for.

I still see a 3rd place finish, 2nd at best, Rays or Sox should beat them out, just too many wounded soldiers this year, 2nd WC, maybe ?

I hope I am wrong !

Morn. Doug, you just called it. It’s cashman’s hand pickin of the farm, pickin up guys that can’t produce on their team, and somehow someway they come here and see the ball like it was Rosie O’Donnells ass.i checked on the returns of all the guys yesterday. Some are this month into June but the rest are late June to July and severino if after asb. Sox broke out that’s a huge problem and I’m still worried about TB.

Yeah,Doc, it's not going to be easy to even get the 2nd WC spot, even with a decent start, but missing so many key guys.

Now we get Johnny Lasagna in the rotation instead of Paxton

The team is held together with duct tape and baling wire right now, 19-14 is remarkable, could easily be 14-19 !

Well we got Andujar back anyway, he's not hitting well but that will change

He really sucks with the glove, he should be converted to a first baseman so he doesn't have to throw very often
. You can hide him at DH for now but that spot should be rotated between Stanton, Sanchez, Judge, etc.

He just isn't a great fit for the Yankees, he should be traded, if they get a decent return

Not really getting much better, Andujar down again, I knew he wasn't right.one dimensional player, all bat no glove/arm
Doesn't fit well in today's game with that profile

Does any team use a strictly DH guy anymore ?

David Ortiz was great, but that DH spot should be rotated to give guys the proverbial half day off

I highly doubt he ever becomes anything close to average at 3B defensively ! Time to convert him into a 1B/DH guy, or trade for a decent return

German has picked up his game:

Through 10 games, New York Yankeesstarter Domingo German is 9-1 and has won his last six starts. His nine wins this season are the most by a pitcher so far. His ERA is 2.60 and his WHIP is 0.98, which is fifth and fourth in the American League respectively. He has struck out 57 batters through 51 1/3 innings.
